Great room, with a separate seating area as well as a bed. Fresh flowers in the room. The hotel has parking, which is great. Seafood at dinner is excellent, and the restaurant is very good. Great location near the marshes, perfect for walking and bird watching.
This elegant hotel sits within the 12,000 acre Goodwood Estate, at the gateway to the South Downs. Guests have 2 golf courses, a health club and restaurants serving ingredients from the estate.
Located in Fishbourne, the Woolpack Inn provides the perfect base from which to explore the South Downs and Chichester Harbour, just a 10-minute walk from Fishbourne Rail Station.

All in all it was OK. Unfortuneatly the beds were only marginally confortable, although the rest of the room was fine. Breakfast had been cooked long before the time we agreed to be there and consequently was somewhat dried up. Lastly the Breakfast timeframe of finsihing at 09.00 was in my view far too early with 09.30 as a minimum and as there was holiday guests 10.00 would have been more sensible.
In all other respects it was value for money and good enough, although to be honest there are many other establishments in the area, and I would try others first if I were to stay around there again.
Chichester Inn has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Chichester.

Great service and straightforward choice at breakfast. Food cooked from scratch and of a high quality. Marmite available(!) together with good cafetières of coffee which were replenished. Nothing was too much trouble.
Location easy to access and also walk in to the city from. Car parking available and hassle free.
A warm welcome on arrival….cases taken up to room and brought down on leaving. Friendliness and superb service from all staff. Spotlessly clean.

Chichester is a gem of a City - it is relatively small considering it is a catherdral city - and has a rich and long history, going back to Roman times . The central area, which is full of attractive 18th Century Georgian architecture, is encircled by a Roman wall; the remains of a Roman villa are situated in nearby Fishbourne.
Culturally, there is a top notch theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre, and an art gallery.
To the North of the City you are about 5 miles from hills of the South Downs National Park, and Goodwood racing course is up there too. To the South, Chichester Harbour is an Area of Outstanding National Beauty.
The only downside is the traffic on the A27 Chichester bypass which needs major national investment. The traffic is worsening as thousands of new houses are being built.

We know Chichester and were visiting to see a friend in a Chichester Festival Fringe play - ‘Other people’s shoes’ very good. This was a Sunday evening performance. As it was a Sunday not all restaurants were open.
Had a lovely dinner beforehand at the Harbour Hotel. Left Chichester Monday morning.

Chichester is a lovely cathedral city, must be a lovely place to live and is a great place to visit.
Cathedral, Bishops Palace gardens, parks, theatre, cinema, masses of restaurants and cafes, pedestrianised centre with independent and chain shops.
We walked everywhere on the level, and stayed in the centre within the walls.
Highly recommended for a long weekend but we wish we could have stayed longer.

Location is great - just outside the door are many lovely shops, varied, very good cafes and restaurants, some sightseeing within walking distance as well as an obviously well used park at the rear of the hotel. Something for everyone.

Loved the Cathedral and restaurants.
Loved the Cathedral and restaurants. Went to the Buttery and also to India Gate. Both had friendly staff and excellent food. The Nags Head was a great pub too. There are so many walks to do nearby in the South Downs. A great place for a family.

The hotel was very central to Chichester and easily accessible to the theatre. The staff were very helpful with our luggage as my husband is disabled. They carried it up to the room on arrival and back down on our day of departure. The food in the restaurant was nice and the breakfast exceptional. The bed was very comfortable.
The rooms was very cosy and the facilities were very clean and up to date which the reflected the reasonable price. The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious and the service was efficient. The hotel was very convenient for Chichester City Centre and local attractions.
Unsmiling Receptionist on arrival did not help the impersonal feel of the hotel. However, all we needed for sightseeing in Chichester with free parking and bus outside door. Restaurant on site, independently run, had cheerful, efficient service.
