Ranksborough Hall offers peace and tranquillity providing pure relaxation across beautiful landscaped grounds. Ranksborough Hall itself was built in 1893 for Lord Ranksborough who was equerry to Queen Victoria. A huge 50 acres of parkland surround the hall providing stunning scenery. The charming village of Langham is on the doorstep with two ancient local pubs within walking distance.

Rutland is England’s smallest and arguably prettiest county, and certainly lives up to its motto, Multum in Parvo (much in little). This rural escape is the perfect place to spend time enjoying the great outdoors. Looking for things to do in Rutland? Take to the water, and there’s plenty of it, nature reserves bursting with birdlife, and country houses. Tiny Rutland makes a big splash. Lap the vast reservoir by foot or bicycle and take in lush, green nature reserves where elegant ospreys with giant wingspans dive for their fish suppers. High teas are served up at this central county’s stately homes while centuries-old country inns pull cask ale pints. Visit castle halls harking back to Norman times. For a relatively small county Rutland has its fair share of golf courses. Get ready to tee-up with views across Rutland Water. The quaint towns of Oakham and Uppingham offer a range of individual boutiques. Uppingham is famed for its antiques and galleries, whilst the county town of Oakham offers a great mix of quality high street and independent shops – not to mention a castle!. There were hairs all around the living room area which made it seem like it hadn’t been hoovered from the last people who visited.

We felt that any pet accommodation should have gated decking area, staff did say they are looking at this. Unfortunately the stair gate we had didn’t fit.

Lovely lodge, and place to stay. My only criticism is the cleanliness of this lodge! Some staining on furniture which I’m sure would easily come out if tried, but was told they’d been so busy hadn’t had time!! You are also asked to strip the bedding when you leave which isn’t a problem but you would expect to be find a clean quilt inside, unfortunately ours had a big blood stain on, which I find not expectable!! Had I seen this before leaving I would certainly have complained!!

Very expensive especially as check in is not until 17.00 yet check out is 9.00. Did get a email whilst traveling down informing us that lodge was ready so could check in at 15.30…

A brilliant part of the country. Staff on site are absolutely marvellous. So helpful and polite nothing is a problem. Jack was super. The park is clean and people who were on site at the time were nice and friendly. It was quiet on an evening no noisy neighbours. Overall we had a lovely time and will consider returning next year. The local pub is not too far to walk around 10 mins into the village. There is a little retail park with a aldi, M&S and macdonalds about 5 min drive so convenient. No local shops in Langham from what we seen. But a lovely big park in Langham near the allotments and cemerty which was a good find for our little ones to let of steam. As there is no play park on site.
