The Hot Tub

Lovely space to relax in, well provisioned and hot tub was private and well maintained.

We had a great time in lodge 110, we were called early to say our lodge was ready which was a lovely surprise, check in was swift and simple A few little bits in the lodge like towel rail kept falling off but nothing to ruin our stay If you don’t like creepy crawlies this is not the place for you! The lodges are mostly in the woods so expect the odd spider or flying insect The shower doors are pretty narrow, for someone with big boobs and bum it was a squeeze but not impossible!! Probably one of the most private lodges we have been to, location peaceful and cheeky squirrel made an appearance on the decking a couple of times sending the dog into a frenzy but comical Would definitely return!

We had such an amazing time! The lodge was lovely, well kitted out and very clean. The hot tub was perfect and cleaned every morning. One jet wasn't working but it didn't spoil anything. We stayed at the furthest end of the wood and it was tranquil. All the lodges are well spaced out and the hot tubs are set out to give a decent amount of privacy while you are in them. The only suggestion I have is to include a mop in the cleaning cupboard- so you can quickly deal with hot tub footprints. Other than that everything else was perfect.

The break can be very expensive once you add the cost of the lodge snd all yr activities example 2 activities for 2 people is gbp80.00

The bin was broken, toilet roll holder fell off the wall, small, damp and dark.

Didn't use due to covid restrictions and the changing rooms being closed!

Super relaxing break in very impressive lodge, which was really well equipped, and the hot tub was a huge bonus. Was lovely sitting outside the hotel for drinks, or dining in the Golf club. Pool amenities were excellent and included in the price. Spent a day in Louth when the market was on which was pleasant. Slight downside was the distance from our lodge to reception - clocked it at exactly one mile when driving it. Also, due to the location within woodland, you won't see any sunshine if you sit on the veranda of your lodge. Overall, a superb short break, would recommend if it's relaxation and seclusion you're looking for.

    Awful!

Stayed in Alford spa and was really disappointed as not a lodge but a caravan. Damp, cramped bedroom. Nice caravan but definitely not a lodge and not worth the premium. It was a nice caravan though. It took 6 mins to drive to the reception and shop on site and nowhere for children to play. Pool was lovely and staff nice and surrounding area lovely with really nice friendly people in the local pubs in Louth. Overall holiday was good. Mablethorpe beach really good but gets busy in the afternoon. We had a lovely holiday but I wouldn’t book that accommodation again.

We wouldn’t go back. We were told we couldn’t access the lodge until 6 and received a call on the day to say it’d be ready sooner for us however we were both at work (thinking we couldn’t go until 6pm) so this wasn’t any good to us. We got there, reception were helpful and we quickly gained access to the lodge. We stayed in 107 which was a lot smaller than it looked on the photos and was basically a glorified caravan. The hot tub is clearly also an afterthought because it’s right around the back of the lodge and we had to come out of the front door to walk round to it which wasn’t very nice having to do with people from other lodges watching you. The lodge/caravan itself was modern however it was mouldy in places, it smelt damp in the bedrooms especially the main bedroom and the bedsheets felt damp. We booked swimming twice which was good although some of the sauna wasn’t open. The kids enjoyed it though so it was worth going. We were disappointed not to be able to book ANY of the back 2 bear activities… it was fully booked for the whole weekend. We weren’t made aware that we would have to prebook any of these activities so I had two bored children - not great at all. We couldn’t eat in the main restaurant because there were large tables of golfers in both nights which again was disappointing and meant we had to look elsewhere for a nice family meal out. We had to be out of the lodge by 9:30am on the Monday and after finding out that we weren’t allowed to access any of the facilities on this day, and back 2 bear were closed we wondered what the point was in staying Sunday night and ended up leaving a day early. Overall it was nice to get away and the use of the hot tub was nice but we would definitely not come back - it wasn’t cheap and definitely not value for money at any point.

Lodge was nice enough, but not ready till 6pm and floors wet when we get keys at 6.15. This has to be down to not enough staff/poor planning, cooking hood reported not working, never heard back after someone came and looked at it to confirm it was broken. Towel holder in bathroom not fixed to wall properly was put back on for use after reporting it but it came off again and again. Bathroom vents had to be cleaned again as still full of dust. Hot tub not up to temperature even at 6.30pm when last guest like us are told to be out by 9.30am its a joke again not enough staff or poor planning. £50 put on your card as you check in but what is this for, as its not to say the lodge is in perfect condition when you check in because it wasn't... Didn't try Hotel restaurant but the golf club food and staff brilliant, swimming pool and leisure complex really good. Back 2 bear who provide the go activity program on site really nice people kids loved axe throwing..

Overall very disappointing and a waste of money. Having stayed in many really great lodges this was so very poor.

    Michelle 05/09/2021

The lodge smelt slightly of dog and the dvd player didn’t work but other than that it was great. The hot tub was perfect
