Thank you for a fabulous holiday!!!

A lovely quiet lodge in beautiful surroundings, close enough to Penrith, Keswick, Lowther Castle for days out to entertain children. The hot tub was well maintained, lodge was very clean and well equipped and had a lovely little welcome basket which was a nice touch. The only improvements I’d suggest would be a different high chair as the one provided is way too big for smaller babies, supplying cot bedding or adding a note on booking to say bedding isn’t supplied, and some lamps (which I realise may have been removed as high touch points for COVID safety). However none of these impacted our trip negatively. As mentioned on other reviews there seems to be a lot of flies around - a fly zapper would be a useful addition to avoid these pests. Carol on reception was lovely and gave a very friendly welcome.

We loved these lodges, they were absolutely spotless and very comfortable and the best bit was the hot tub. I think extra towels would be useful to have a set for the bathroom and one for the hot tub

Lodge was pretty new and well kitted out with loads of space for our family of 4. Some nice touches with snacks and a Nespresso coffee machine. Hot tub was great as well and we used it every night.

Beautifully fitted out and decorated. Lovely balcony and hot tub. Bedrooms were a good size and lovely to have 2 ensuite bathrooms. Loved the open plan kitchen/diner area.

Stayed in the Askham deluxe very nice spacious set up. Surrounded by beautiful scenery. Rooms clean tidy shower was powerful and spacious. Couldn’t really fault much. The only issue was the hot tub was dirty. Grass floating around and black marks in the inner aspect of the tub which transferred on to my friends back. This has obviously not be cleaned from the previous occupants. Overall great location, clean tidy and inviting lodge. Just the hot tub being the only issue.

Superior lodge on a quite location with all needs catered for to assist in making your holiday one to remember.

Lovely place but there was nothing but flies, flies and more flies. Flies on your food. Flies on the furniture. Flies in your bedroom. Flies landing on you. It spoilt the holiday and I wouldn't want to return to this one again. It also didn't have a washing machine in the actual lodge, which you would normally expect, so hence a massive pile of washing on return to home . The other thing was that the hot tub was too hot. We told staff about it but nothing was done. Could have also done with some nets or voile at the patio doors and windows which would've helped stop so many flies come in. And a couple of sun loungers would have made it more desirable as there were only 4 chairs for outside seats, which were on the small side.
