The Hot Tub

Was overall ok experience however there was a few issues which could of made the holiday better ! Dressing gowns were provided however when I went into the pocket there was a tissue which was from the previous user in the pocket. Not too sure if maybe it had been washed with the tissue in the pocket but wasn’t very happy due to what’s going on in the world right now ! Also, the hot tub ( which was what we was looking forward to the most ) didn’t feel clean and well kept as when going into the hot tub felt like you was in a dirty bath and didn’t feel as relaxing as it should have. Also the hot tub was behind the pod to the side which was different to the other pods ( which felt like we didn’t get the same experience as guests in the other pods ). However, in the sense of having a few days relaxation, the views were lovely and the location was quiet and peaceful. Just feel like for the price you pay, I would have expected a bit more luxury in the pods.

Amazing little pod. Clean and beautiful hot tub. Overall cleanliness is amazing. It was a comfy little home for two days.

Loved the Bankside Pod as it had a beautiful view of the lake. Our hot tub was also facing onto the lake but still felt private. Inside the lodge was spacious yet cosy with perfect facilities.

Beautiful scenery and lovely pods for a unique experience. So relaxing to get away and switch off. Option for late check out once you get there is handy to know.

We were so looking forward to staying here after reading other reviews, but unfortunately we didn’t have the luxury, quiet and Covid-safe experience that others did. The confirmation email from Hoseasons doesn’t confirm which pod you’re in and as there’s no reception we were left trying to get hold of the owners (voicemail) before having to call Hoseasons to get through the right door. I work in the NHS and am clinically vulnerable so am understandably very careful during the pandemic. Unfortunately, our pod just was not clean. The kitchen had other people’s crumbs on the surfaces, the kettle was full of limescale (the water is very hard), the coffee machine hadn’t been cleaned and couldn’t be used, the drawers were full of other people’s hair and dust, the sofa had hair all over it, the bathroom had splatters of tooth paste on the walls where this hadn’t been cleaned, the bathroom bin was dirty, the shower was stained and hadn’t been cleaned properly, the fan in the bathroom was thick with dust. Even down to the kitchen cupboard handles being sticky with dirt, the cushions for the outdoor chairs being stained, no pillow protectors on pillows, the slats on the bed being grimy (visible without moving anything). A lightbulb had gone in one bedside light and hadn’t been replaced, also dusty. The peaceful retreat we felt we were promised was full of rather drunk people playing Whitney Houston’s greatest hits all afternoon into the evening (it seems the ‘no loud music’ rule doesn’t seem to apply). The resort is not yet on mains electric so runs on a generator, which was located right behind our pod. Unfortunately this meant sleeping at night sounded like you were camping behind a burger van. We lost all water for one of our two nights and then the generator packed up on the day of our departure so we had no power either. The owners swiftly fixed this and allowed us to leave a little later so we could grab a shower once it was back up and running. We had to clean the pod ourselves to be comfortable to stay. Having said all that, the owners were kind and helpful. They offered us a small discount based on the cleanliness issues and explained that they planned a deep clean for the pods that week and were still waiting for mains electric which had been ordered last year. Once the electric is sorted, with better behaved guests and a full deep clean, the pods might deliver on the promise of a quiet, luxury eco holiday surrounded by nature. But at the moment, I’m afraid they didn’t deliver for us and the price we paid feels extortionate for what we actually received. If we hadn’t have been so far from home, I’m not sure we would have stayed at all. The place has real promise and a lovely couple running it, but we wouldn’t visit again. I accept that rowdy guests happen everywhere but the cleanliness is not excusable under normal circumstances, let alone during a pandemic. It went beyond the odd spider web you might encounter in a country escape. Compared to the other places we’ve stayed during Covid, it was vastly lacking and it was hard to feel safe.

Lovely little pod, big enough really, everything that you needed together with a nice hot tub to relax in.

All day there was constant works ongoing. Hammering, drilling and sawing on the unbuilt pod and then on the pod next to us. Plus the workers on the pod next to us then had their radio on. Got advised power would be out for 20 minutes and need been off for 40 minutes. Can’t advertise this pod as a peaceful getaway if it’s a construction site. We’ve come here for a peaceful couple of nights and wanted a relaxing day and so far we just have construction and radio noise. Not very relaxing. Felt like the inside of the pod could also be cleaner.

Absolutely beautiful . The pod, scenery and peacefulness was just what we needed after all that's happened in this last year. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

We stayed in Bankside Pod 7 for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Though the location is quite remote, we were very pleased about this for a lovely peaceful short getaway. We were particularly impressed with everything that was included inside the pod - a coffee machine, and other essentials. The bed was very comfortable and the pod was clean inside. Our favourite feature was definitely the hot tub! The only thing I'd mention is that the road to the place is quite rubbly and rough so I would not recommend taking low sporty cars.

Fabulous location, Fabulous hot tub! Loved the pod too! Only slight thing I would say was that it was very hot in the pod! And too many bugs due to the lake to have the windows and doors open but other than that it was amazing! 🙂

Peaceful location and a quiet and relaxing weekend break. The pod itself is cosy, quirky and bigger than expected. Very clean too. Hot tub was excellent and provided a lovely vantage point to a bonus firework display. Will be back in 2022!
