Lovely lodge

The accommodation is good but expensive. The forest location of the lodges means you are infested with mosquitos. The lodge would really benefit from mosquito screens on the doors and windows like they have in similar style locations in the US. Do recommend anyone takes their own duvets if visiting while COVID restrictions are in place as the plastic covered duvets being used are dreadful.

When we arrived we weren’t aware the windows were open we took the dog out and came back to a swarm of them in both bedrooms we had to Hoover them all up it was a black cloud xx the double bed made such a racket to move or turn over neither of us slept very well xx

The lodge was home from home and the hot tub was maintained everyday.

Kielder is a nice setting. Lodge (Beech premier spa) was really nice done to a verstandard. Hot tub is a nice touch however the midgies make it unbearable to sit in. Restaurant is nice albeit quite expensive. There was limited access to the pool and other activities. Whilst there is a large lake you cannot use own paddleboards but are welcome to pay for it as an activity.

Poor value for money. Cheap duvets resulting in lots of noise when sleeping. Unable to open windows due to flies/midges. Poor quality bed in the twin room.

Stayed here for 3 nights in a lodge The bathrooms had a drainage smell in them and the lights outside didn’t work . We reported them 3 times and eventually they worked on our last night Having to check out at 9am is difficult especially when you can’t check in until 5pm , not good value for the price and stripping the bed linen on check out has absolutely nothing to do with COVID so don’t understand this . I want a holiday away not having to strip beds Also couldn’t book anywhere on site to eat as you have to do online , which isn’t explained very well and all booked

Very relaxing environment and the accommodation in the Beech Spa was light, bright, contemporary and comfortable. The kitchen equipment was so comprehensive and made self catering very easy. The only thing missing in the Lodge were midge/mosquito nets on the windows and doors. The website does give fair warning about the insects and we took every insect protection there is; but in the heat it was essential to open the windows and the inevitable bites followed. The hot tub was brilliant and cleaned every day. The staff before our arrival and during our stay were very helpful, efficient and courteous but not intrusive. Overall the venue and service and environment were excellent.

TV did not had Netflix which was shame as nowadays most places have that, having said that the PS4 was a bonus for my son who really enjoyed playing games when it got really hot outside !!

Great holiday, Two teenagers and a dog, we Had a great time, lodge was good and well equipped. Site was quiet and peaceful and location was lovely. Would recommend. Lots of nice walks and fresh air. Look out for the Midges, you couldn’t really use the hot tub without harassment and lot of bites all week. Was hoping to see the stars as it’s famous from dark sky’s, however being in the trees and not being able to turn off the outside lights was disappointing, so no star gazing for us. Bathroom door was a sliding door across the wardrobe, not great as all the damp air went into the wardrobe and made clothes damp. Having a dog we could have done with enclosed outdoor space, we had three sides, please add a fourth! Nespresso coffee machine, dosnt have a full sensor so coffee all over the place, be careful. They could do with more essentials in the shop, oh and Morrison’s do deliveries to the site. All in all a good holiday.

We stayed at Kielder at the end of July & had a fabulous break. We stayed in the beech premier spa and the lodge was amazing, only draw back was balcony was completely shaded. Would like to give a special mention to Jo & Paul. It was our daughters birthday while we were there. Jo went above and beyond decorating the table in the restaurant with balloons and banners & even bought her a birthday present which was a lovely surprise. Paul was very welcoming and also gave her a birthday CD of his music. Great stay in a beautiful place.

We had a lovely holiday, lodge smelt of damp though and there seemed to be some kind of leak under the bathroom flooring. Sofas were also not very comfortable (leather). Wifi was fine, tv channels limited

Sharon 31/08/2021

Accomodation (Beech Premier Spa) was excellent. Very nicely furnished and thoughtfully equipped. Only criticism was value for money as it was a late change of destination after cancellation of overseas holiday, but probably more a reflection of relative late booking and supply/demand.
