We would definitely recommend Cader Idris for anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing stay very close to the Welsh coast. It’s perfect for a romantic break. Firstly, the property is spotlessly clean, and everything was kept in great condition. We think the pictures on the web site don’t do it justice! The bed is really comfy, the shower is lovely and there is lots of storage space. Usually, we find self-catering properties do not have a very well stocked kitchen – in our experience there may be an old pan, a single spoon and no sign of a chopping board! Not the case at Cader Idris at all – there is pretty much everything you could need, and the knives are not blunt! The kitchen had a fridge with a freezer compartment, a washing machine and a dishwasher. The towels are huge which is brilliant and there are some decent sized mugs. The TV was great and allowed access to Netflix, Freeview and Youtube (maybe more but this is what we accessed). The wi-fi signal wasn’t perfect but pretty good. The hot tub was amazing! It was instantly ready to use and was very well maintained. Perfect size for two people. More people would fit but it would be an intimate squeeze! Unlike lots of other properties we saw, the outdoor area was nice and private. It was also great having the barbecue. The town of Llanon is not far. There is a local shop there for essentials and it has a pub which serves foods. We didn’t go to the pub put it looked nice and was certainly popular. There is a stunning pebble beach which is well worth a visit. Terry (the park warden) was very responsive and helpful – even at midnight when we arrived late and couldn’t find the property. Natasha (the housekeeper) was lovely and went above and beyond to nip round and give us the wi-fi password. The only things we think could think of to make the property even better are: 1) A stronger light outside near the barbecue area 2) Some kind of welcome pack with details about things like the wi-fi password, the local area, how to work the heating etc. would have been helpful 3) A bit more information before arrival e.g. location of the cabin itself, more about what was in the cabin, how to get in etc. (There was however an email with lots of health and safety information, local emergency numbers and good directions to Seven Springs) If you go, we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

We had a lovely time here, the lodge is perfect for 2 people and the surroundings are so peaceful. Our dog also loved it, it’s nice to have a secure garden area to be able to let him roam in as many lodges do not offer this. The location is a great base for exploring the Welsh coast and we enjoyed days out to New Quay, Aberystwyth and Borth just a short drive away. The lodge is perfectly equipped and the hot tub is lovely and easy to use. Would recommend for couples wanting to escape to relax or equally as a base for a walking holiday. We loved it!

Cader Idris was a beautiful get away for the weekend. Me and my partner had a lovely weekend. Relaxing in the outside area in the sunshine, taking walks in the area, cooking on the BBQ and dipping in the Hot Tub. The property was just the perfect size for us 2 and our dog. We walked to the little village and to the rocky beach/coastline. We didn't feel the need to go anywhere else. The walk to the village was stunning as the views of the coast where just breath-taking. Terry was brilliant. Nothing was a problem for him. He contacted us a few days before, and on the morning of check in. We only had 1 minor complaint at the property which was sorted pretty much straight away. The BBQ wasn't so clean after the previous guest. Terry came out and cleaned it and was very apologetic. The property its self was really clean and tidy, and the bed was so comfortable. We had everything we needed. Cups, glasses (inc plastic for hot tub), plates, bowls, cutlery, cooking equipment, utensils, Washing machine, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, hairdryer, iron and board. There was a tray with coffee, tea, sugar, UHT milk and Jam. Just make sure you take your own salt and pepper. Our neighbours on the other side of the cabin; as this is one full size split in half, decided to burn some bacon in the morning (oops!). However as I have said this is one full size cabin divided, and so our smoke alarm went off too, because they are linked. It wasn't great being woken up at 7:30am by it, but at least we knew the safety aspect and reason for this. As this property only has a dividing wall between the 2, be mindful to keep noise levels down. Our neighbours were also a bit noisy and some conversations were well heard indoors. The living rooms are back to back and the bedrooms are on either end of the cabin. This is a very quiet, peaceful park. And a beautiful one also. We spoke to a couple who own a cabin on the park and they live there half of the year they love it so much. For those wanting a relaxing / romantic break, this is a must. I highly recommend and we will definitely return.

Myself, husband and dog had a lovely 3 night stay in june in the Cader Idris. On arrival there was no waiting around we was shown straight to our lodge and welcomed with a lovely bottle of fizz and box of biscuits. The lodge was beautiful, immaculately clean with lovely decor. The bed is large and comfortable. It's one lodge split into 2 however, very private and we didn't hear any noise from our neighbours. The outside area was private and enclosed very safe for our dog. We loved the hot tub and had beautiful weather so used the bbq twice and the outdoor area is a suntrap. There are limited facilities on the site itself however perfect for a quiet romantic break. We visited Aberaeron and Aberystwyth which were only short drives away. We loved our stay, would highly recommend and love to return in the future.

We had a lovely stay away with our dog. The garden area was great and we didn’t have to worry about him running off whilst we used the hottub. The enclosed area was one of the main reasons we chose this lodge. We stayed in the Cader Idris which is probably the better positioned of the two in terms of the sun, as it gets it in the morning and evening. However the Cader Idris is positioned facing towards the main park, whereas the garden for Cambrian Retreat faces away, so is a bit more private. Having said that the whole park was lovely and quiet so it probably wouldn’t make much difference. One thing we felt could improve the privacy between the two lodges was a full fence where they join (rather than the slatted fence), as we both had dogs which were very keen to say hello to each other and a full fence on that side would have stopped the barking (or perhaps we just need to train our dog better!) The lodge was lovely and modern and was really well equipped, but next time we’ll remember to bring oven gloves, kitchen scissors, kitchen roll, salt and some cooking oil. A box for the recycling would have been useful too, although there didn’t seem to be any bin for recycling on the park at all and we weren’t sure why this was. Everything else was there for us (crockery, utensils, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, tin foil, towels etc). We loved going down to the beach and watching the sunset, maybe a little far to walk to but definitely do-able if you don’t mind a hill or two. We’d love to come back and will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

The location was great, such a nice place for a quiet weekend to relax. The bed was incredibly comfortable and you are provided with a fully stocked kitchen with more than we needed! There were a few issues, like the back door didn’t close very easily and a bigger fridge would have helped as there aren’t any big shops near buy so was difficult to stock food for the weekend. Also a higher standard of touches to match the high speck throughout would be to put the hand soap in nicer bottles not the plastic bottle they are brought in. Other that those few things I would definitely go back and have already recommended.
