The Hot Tub

The hot tub and kitchen were the nicest parts of the lodge. The remainder left much to be desired. None of the furniture matched. It looked very tired. No hot water for a shower was available.

Accommodation needs updating felt like you could go through the floor in the kitchen and bathroom areas, no WIFI in the cabin for the full time we were there even after paying for it. Booked to go to the restaurant at 7pm eventually after asking for them got menus flung on the table, after another 20 minutes still not been asked if we want any drinks or food so left without getting anything to eat.

No evening entertainment but we had a hot tub so used that most nights, there is a small village a walk away though so used that for food and drinks

We stayed as a family of 6 in the Carlisle bay premium plus spa lodge. The photos are very deceiving. It looks a LOT bigger than it actually is. The lodge was dirty outside, covered in bird muck which obviously can’t be helped but it doesn’t take long to jet wash it. We walked in and the sofas were scuffed, the doors looked like they had been under coated and not glossed so - unfinished. The hot tub wasn’t the biggest and wasn’t private as you could see through the fencing surrounding it. There was a picnic bench next to our lodge which we soon found out was a “communal” table. The grass was cut regularly but was never swept away which resulted in us having grass all over our tiny porch area then going into the lodge. We cannot fault the staff they were lovely. Due to covid there was no activities at all for the children. We were able to book a 45 minute slot the day before. Sometimes this would be in the afternoon as the mornings would be saved for residents. We did manage to use the tennis courts! We bought rackets there. Luckily we had days out planned as there would have been nothing for us to occupy 4 children. It definitely needs updating, a splash of paint and a clean. The premium plus lodges really shouldn’t be described as that. The tv in the corner was tiny! If you are going to stay there I would say take plenty of food/drink as there aren’t any local supermarkets. Don’t expect high standards!! Hopefully things may improve if covid restrictions relax?? Lovely surrounding area, gorgeous beach a few mins walk but nothing to do at all apart from that.

The carpet in the lounge kept getting wet from the hot tub even though there was a towel down, flooring like in the kitchen may be better as it carpet was rather smelly. The cups in the kitchen were too small for the drinks in the tassimo machine and overflowed. There were no side plates. Apart from that it was a bit dated but fine.

As above below basic furnishings. Very uncomfortable. To use swimming pool had to go in swim gear and return to lodge in wet swim gear as no changing facilities or toilets. This is not made clear on booking and is extremely poor practice. Certainly not luxury. We left after 4 days despite having paid for 7. Surrounding area is pretty but needs a lot of investment. Need to travel daily for things to do. Site is very run down. Would not encourage anyone to book this, it's very very basic.

Awful if this was gold I’d hate to see bronze

    Out dated and over priced.

The sofas were ripped, light switch broken in a bedroom, couldn't fit travel cot in double bedroom, tin opener broken, no dvd player as advertised

We have previously been on several holidays with Hoseasons, but unfortunately this one was not the same quality as others. The chalet was dirty on arrival, not enough bedding for people staying & staff quite rude when asked for more bedding. Not enough passes for people staying, Not as advertised.

Honestly this place only shows you the bits they want you to see. To say The place is so run down it's an understatement. The lodge we stayed in was hurrendous felt really dirty dark and dingy, the beds were like sleeping on wooden planks, wardrobe space is limited not enough for 6 ppl, the uncounted fridge in the kitchen with the tiny freezer compartment is defo not suitable for 6ppl, the kitchen handles were all sticky we had to go round wiping and cleaning everything first. The sofas in the living room were really hard and uncomfortable. This place was nothing like the photos we had seen on the website when we booked. No entertainment for the kids, only a pub on site which did OK food, not the best. The only good thing about this place was the hottub checked and cleaned daily. We were that unhappy with our accommodation we asked for it to be changed but nothing available and we came home from this holiday 3 days earlier cos we couldn't face spending another day in the 'lodge' honestly felt like a dungeon. Do not waste your money. The place silloth its self its a cute little town but nothing to do there is a couple of cafes the beach is very stoney no sand at all and you have to travel at least 40mins to get to somewhere for the kids something to do even like just bowling. So unless your willing to spend a fortune getting to places I would avoid this place. Safe to say we will never be visiting this place again.
