Very good

Very disappointed. The picture of the lodge attached to my booking said VIP Premium lodge and had an image of a glass fronted lodge right overlooking the water. When i got there it was set back from the water and a bog standard lodge. It was clean and fine but definitely not 'VIP Premium!'. We weren't even provided with any small toiletries or a tea towel! it's a hot tub lodge and no robes were provided - are we supposed to sit around soaking wet? No DVD player. No champagne flutes (perhaps this is nit picky but I thought the idea of paying for 'VIP Premium' was that all these little luxury details were included). The hit tub was also full of scum from the start of the trip, don't think it had been rinsed or cleaned out properly. We had to keep wiping off. I raised this with the site manager and was fobbed off with excuses like 'well you booked lodge 6' when i didn't. You select a lodge TYPE and then once you've paid your deposit you get an email allocating you a lodge. She then said well the picture is supposed to be of the site not the specific lodge - well that is false advertising and deceptive. When I tried to express this she started shouting at me and then hung up the phone! I paid in excess of a grand for 4 nights in a caravan with a hot tub. Definitely not VIP or Premium. Will not recommend or stay here again. Massively overpriced for what it is!

This is a beautiful park with only 10 cabins on. Although only 5 are by the lake the next 5 are behind the first row which I think could’ve been made clearer on booking. The cabin itself is beautiful, walk in wardrobe, en-suite in the main room. The hot tub is heavily overlooked from every direction (privacy screens are needed) which was a little uncomfortable as we faced the main through road between the rows. There is no play area, shops or anything to do, which we didn’t mind at all as we liked the peacefulness. There’s lots to do in the area which the owners emailed us about. We were a little disappointed that we didn’t get any arrival goodies such as biscuits or milk, this would’ve been nice as we had ordered a Tesco delivery for our food items and it wasn’t arriving for a few hours after we’d arrived. There wasn’t any welcome packs either, which I’m guessing is a covid thing but easily wiped down if in plastic folders. The kitchen wasn’t greatly kitted out, no pint glasses, frying pan was not non stick with a dodgy handle and for some reason the oven was overly hot as things were burning despite the correct temperature and timings. One of the things that I really must mention is how hard the mattresses’ were, all of them were uncomfortable so if this isn’t something you can’t cope with then take your own mattress topper. Fortunately our cabin (no 6) slept 8 so this left us with spare quilts so we slept on top of them. There weren’t any mattress covers just a thin sheet between you and the uncomfortable crevices of the mattress (also grossed me out as I thought mattress covers were a must路‍♀️) spare pillows didn’t have any covers on either濫.

Would definitely return with my family

The lodge was ideal. 2 families of 4 and plenty room for everyone. Decked area was fully secure so great for my youngest. Site is quiet and flat so again perfect for 2 older kids getting out on their bike. Everything within the lodge that we might have needed and the neighbouring wild shore water park really was a great addition to our trip, made better by being able to walk to it.

The lodges are in a really lovely situation, in a quiet park nearby to a lake (not necessarily lake-side as the pictures suggest, but still with a nice view). The lodge we stayed in was really clean and well maintained, and was really comfy for 8 people to sleep. The surrounding area is lovely - there's lots for families to do, with so many choices for really interesting days out and fantastic places to eat. The surrounding area really does make this site a great choice. However, the park itself has no facilities other than the lodges. We weren't provided with any information in the lodge when we arrived, and no one welcomed us onto the site or provided us with any information. We had been asked to provide our car registration numbers for access to the site, but one evening were left locked out of the site as the barriers were shut - we hadn't been informed this would happen, and hadn't been given any information on how to open them. This was far from ideal with a tiny baby and small children, late at night. The dishwasher wasn't working, which we weren't informed about. So, overall, I'd recommend this site if you want to stay in a clean, comfy lodge in a really great location in Cheshire. If you want a site with any facilities or any staff presence, information or welcome then you may want to look at alternatives as this was very basic and really let the stay down.

Great spacious living / dining area with comfy sofas and TV facility. Double bedrooms are spacious with ensuites. The lodge was clean and tidy. Just a couple of small things missing such as oven gloves & tea towels in the kitchen, a couple more kitchen utensils e.g. tongs & some hand soap in the bathrooms & kitchen as well as some more full-length mirrors in the bedrooms. Overll, though, a modern and clean lodge.
