Our lodge upon arrival wasn’t cleaned to the standard we would expect, with lots of dust, cobwebs and dead flies in both en-suites and around all of the windows, but a quick message to reception and it was cleaned the next morning, followed by a visit from the General Manager that evening to apologise to us and to make sure everything was now ok. So 5* customer service and care.

Had a great week here. A few minor things to point out - the clips on the hot tub cover were broken which when you have a toddler is not ideal/safe. The dressing table was easily pulled over again ideally could have been fixed to wall especially when young children around. There was a terrible smell around the site & in the twin room of our lodge (we didn’t use it as didn’t need it) but it smelt foul ? Just septic tank issues with hot weather but not pleasant. Barring these minor complaints we had a great holiday in peaceful, beautiful surroundings.

The lodges are good quality and are in a beautiful setting. The site was well laid out with a nice restaurant, mini farm and park. All perfect for families. Unfortunately our TV in the front room didn’t work and was only fixed by a cable being removed from one of the bedroom tv’s. Also, on arrival we were told we could order food from the restaurant on the app as the restaurant was full, however the food ordering option wasn’t working. This was eventually rectified and we were told it was an issue with the app, however we were told this after being told that our only option was to go to the shop… which we did (site shop) but it didn’t have much in stock. The situation was a bit annoying given we were told conflicting things, bought food we didn’t need and have two small hungry children. We had no apology from the staff which was also very disappointing. One final point… the hot tub was set to 40 degrees, with no option to change the temp and only one setting worked. Again disappointing, particularly given the price of a 3 day break.

We stayed in lodge 72. It was very spacious, clean and well maintained. The hot-tub was great and positioned so you had complete privacy. Everything we could possibly need was provided in the lodge. The staff could not do enough for us in making our stay as pleasant as possible. The surrounding area is absolutely breathtaking. When exploring the area there's countless vistas of the surrounding countryside, hills and valleys. We have had many holidays through Hoseasons over the years and this was one of the best. We will be certainly coming back again. Our only disappointment was coming home.

The restaurant was a bit pricey for what it was and the menu was limited. We also weren’t able to book in very easily as the site was at full capacity and the restaurant did not have enough space for everyone on the site which was a bit disappointing, but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would book again.

We liked the layout with the central living but would have preferred the 2 bedrooms to be identical to suit 2 couples (which we have had in other lodges on previous holidays). Very small single beds in one of the rooms. A couple of sun loungers on the decking would have been a nice touch. Found it quite difficult to self-cater with only 4 pieces of each type of cutlery. We had to use the dishwasher after every meal which seemed a waste.

    Lovely lodge

Lovely. However would possibly replace carpets in bedrooms are other wood floor being dog friendly. Sofa could do with an upgrade maybe corduroy hard wearing, washable covers. Everything else perfect!

My only observation is that the lounge curtains have at some point been trapped in the sliding doors and are in need of a repair.
