Couldn't have been cleaner or felt safe with Covid situation. The staff were also very helpful and couldn't have done more. Great small touches such as dressing gowns, slippers, chocolates.
Excellent holiday really enjoyed the local surroundings and walking routes
Gummers How is pretty much faultless - its modern, clean and is stocked to the brim with everything you could need. It's very private, which is good for a lodge with a hot tub, and has an impressive view of the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and believe its excellent value for money.
excellent place for peace and quiet and to recharge your yourself everything was perfect for us and the hot tub is a big bonus we are definitely going back booked for next year before we left
Excellent. So comfortable, homely. Loved the home accessories in the lodge. Cannot fault it. Would definitely like ro return again and would recommend to friends and family.
Me and my partner stayed in the Gummers How Retreat for my birthday at the end of September. We both had an amazing time and didn't want to leave! It was very peaceful and felt very humble staying in what felt quite excluded but yet only a 10-15 min drive to the Windermere town, where all the restaurants and boat trips were. So great to have the choice of either enjoying a quiet night in the hot tub and looking up the stars or going out for a romantic meal in the town. The lodge itself was very clean and had everything that you could need in the kitchen and appliances (we still miss the dishwasher - great addition!! as we ended up cooking alot in the lodge) WiFi was good - (we did not know this was included at booking stage) however we did bring the Xbox so we could watch Netflix at the chilled out stages) Only criticism in the lodge was the sofa kept pulling apart - not sure if they were fixed in properly which made it quite uncomfortable. Also, we could of done with a coat rack, maybe hanging over a door so it does not take up much space. We did use the chairs in the kitchen, so it wasn't too much of an issue. We absolutely loved the hot tub!! such a great view overlooking the lake. The little touches really do go a long way with the chocolates, sweets and Bottle of fizz on arrival, oh and the milk! I even got a lovely surprise on my birthday with some flowers, card and prosecco, which was very sweet and really appreciated. We were little apprehensive at first as we was not sure where to go, but go straight to enquiries and you will be met by Andy where he gives you your keys and show you where you will be staying. We felt very safe and good they took precautions with Covid by concealing alot of items in plastic covers. I really would recommend to come and stay here. I usually wouldn't go back to the same place twice but we would definitely come back here again. To do's- supermarket is in the Windermere town called Booths. Rent a boat in the town - such a nice day out. Book the restaurants in advance. Parking was a nightmare on the Saturday in Windermere town. It was far too busy. We then made sure we did all the activities in the week when it was quiet. I would suggest going to St Bee's coast - was beautiful on the beach. We rented Segways in Grizedale Go Ape. Kendal town - shopping. On the rainy day we went to the motor museum which we enjoyed seeing all the classic cars and went to the Aquarium was not worth the money, not much there at all. Staff was very friendly and could not fault them. Honestly one of the best holidays we have had in such a beautiful place where we have made some great memories. Thanks alot team!! Jodie and Chris
Another incredible stay cannot recommend highly enough. Even with the Covid restrictions the extra touches were still excellent and the location is so peaceful.
Very nice park to go to if you want to get away from the outside world and just live in the moment. Very nice place and we would definitely go again.
Brilliant accommodation. Everything you need for a week away and more
This cabin was a perfect for our weeks break.
Spotlessly clean cabin very well stocked with all the essentials & some lovely touches with Prosecco & chocolates.
Arrived at 5pm and everything was perfect from the time we arrived till the time we left a week later. We had a perfect view overlooking the lake from the patio. The hot tub was used daily, also the BBQ and the kitchen was great for the stay. The place was spotless and all soft furnishings also were exemplary. Had a couple of chats with the owner and found him to be very helpful, nice and friendly. We felt very safe and secure and we recommend this site to anyone wanting a perfect gateway to the lakes. 10/10 no problems.
