Here you can discover the Vindolanda Roman Fort, The Sill Landscape Discovery Centre and the world famous Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall. Also within a short walk is the pretty town of Haltwhistle, which is the geographic centre of Britain, here there is a sports centre and outdoor heated swimming pool, as well as Burn Gorge, also a selection of shops, bars and eateries. A must on the list to visit is the historic market town of Hexham, which boasts a stunning abbey, the oldest gaol in the country, and an abundance of eclectic shops, restaurants and pubs. Continue on to the beautiful Roman town of Corbridge, and meander round its boutique shops, art galleries and antique shops, or stop for a coffee after taking a stroll along the river. The Newcastle/Carlisle railway line, runs in front of the cabin. You can catch a train from nearby Bardon Mill station with a stopping service in each direction every 2 hours. The A69 is within easy reach giving easy opportunities to explore this historic region and onwards to Scotland by car. Shop, pub and restaurant 1¼ miles.

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely weekend break at Howburn Log Cabin. The cabin has everything you need and more. We absolutely loved the decor and we would definitely stay again. We spent many an hour in the hot tub which the kids loved. I’d stay that we got very good value for money and I look forward to our next visit.

Very good location and well-equipped unusual cabin. Owners very helpful and sent videos of how to use equipment in advance. Great location, easy walk into Haltwhistle and convenient for Hadrians wall and both east/west coasts. Hot tub a great bonus. A washing machine would be a useful addition.

Stunning log cabin inside and out, every detail thought of for a great holiday. Quiet location, short walk into Haltwhistle and the railway station. Easy access for walking Hadrians wall. Hot tub fantastic for after you’ve been out walking! We were left in peace to enjoy our holiday, but knew that the owners were contactable if needed. Would highly recommend!
