Wonderful place! We had a wonderful time after booking short notice and wow we were very impressed. It's a lovely rustic lodge in beautiful surroundings. We stayed in Kingfisher and found the lodge to be really spacious, especially loved the top floor with beautiful balcony and the hot tub was amazing. The only reason this wasn't a 10 was because we had some issues with the oven and downstairs TV not working (TV wouldn't have been an issue had we not had a 2 and 5 year old), but the owners were brilliant. Took our food away and cooked it for us and had a new oven in place the next day. The location is perfect, surrounded by forest for lovely short walks (perfect for little ones) and only a short drive from some of Devon's best beaches. Be prepared there is no WIFI and next to no phone signal, which actually we loved. We will definitely return.

Amazing week so relaxing

A lovely peaceful, tranquil site, spotlessly clean accommodation. Only slightly marked down for size of kitchen for 6 people. In usual times this probably wouldn't be a issue as would have eaten out more but due to COVID eating in was easier but prep space is a minimum. A great weekend break and will definitely return to explore the picturesque area further.

We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely enjoyed our time here. The lodge was spotless and couldn't fault anything. Everything was well catered for including all towels and cutlery and pots and pans. There's also a tv with free view whixh I always a bonus. The hot tub was very well cleaned and was topped up each day by the owner who is very lovely and welcoming. It's about a 10 min drive into Bideford and tesco. The lodges surrounding Woodlands is a lovely walk and you have a few options where you can walk your dogs. Would highly recommend and we can't wait to book and come back.

The surrounding area was beautiful, but very hilly, in the middle of knowhere, hot tub was amazing, barbecue area had seen better days, lodge very dated and needs quite a bit of maintanance to bring it up to standarf

The lodge was very well equipped and we had everything we needed for our stay. We slept upstairs and the bed was very comfortable. The stairs were rather narrow and steep but there were bedrooms downstairs for those who do not fancy the climb. The lodge overlooks the main lake and you have to climb steps to reach it, I did not count them but estimate 20. The hot tub was very clean and well maintained and there was an outside barbeque if you wish to use it. there were all sorts of birds and a number of squirrels which came close to the lodge and it was nice to sit on the veranda and watch them. This is a great place to stay and I recommend it unreservedly.
