The Hot Tub

    Location

    Reviews

unorganised, certainly not family friendly, the bath has no taps so you can't use it, the hot tub is unusable after the first couple of days, blinds need a good clean, pissy smell in the main bathroom on arrival, had to clean it on arrival.

The price was not reflective of the broken/damaged facilities or our experience

    Lodge was perfect

The lodge itself was lovely inside, stayed in Ladera Eaton lodge, very comfy sofas, modern kitchen and well laid out. The outside is starting to look a bit tired and the decking could certainly do with a spruce up, but there was a lovely big garden table and chairs so a nice spot to sit out and have a drink. Hot tub was ok for the first few days but no-one came to maintain it so by the middle of the week it was starting to look a bit scummy. There was no BBQ as advertised and 2 broken parasols were thrown over the side. Was a nice outlook over the pond and plenty of wildlife to feed if that is your thing. Saw a heron land there quite often, owls in the evening and plenty of hedgehogs scurrying about. Lots of visiting birds through the day. The donkeys on the park are definitely worth visiting and always pleased to see us. They loved the carrots and we fed them every day. I think the cleanliness of the lodge could have been a bit better although everything in the kitchen was spotless and towels and bedding. Few stains up the walls but then you can't stop people being messy when they stay there which is a shame. Could have done with a few more utensils in the kitchen and no baking trays but we still managed. Plenty of plates and glasses and they all looked new. There are codes to get in, one for the main gate and one for the barrier inside but these are on your booking confirmation if you read it properly but also Mark text me them the day before so no issue there. Only problem we encountered was you can't open the gates to get out unless in a car so if you want to walk out we had to drive up, reverse the car into the visitor car park spot then run out the gates! Bit awkward but doable and we managed! And well worth walking to the local pub The Plough for beautiful food and lovely atmosphere. All in all we had a good time and the weather was brilliant so that helps. Just think it could to with a touch up and the hot tubs definitely need checking daily as this put us off using it. Would return but only if I didn't read anymore bad reviews as not sure its worth the money in the condition it is in.
