Not dog friendly

We have stayed here for 4 nights just before lockdown.Great location, quiet with nice views.Lovely walks-Carding Mill Valley.Hot tub and cottage was really nice, but it is not dog friendly as advertised. The garden was enclosed but the fence not high enough for the horse next door who kept coming over to see us.It might be great if you have kids with you,but not so great if you have dog who doesn’t know horses. It meant we had to keep our dog on a lead most of the time, which is not great if you trying to relax in the hot tub as i was just worried all the time. Not relaxing at all.We also had a visit from owners little dog.Garden not secure. Also we think in description of the cottage should be that dogs are not allowed beyond kitchen???Never ever have we stayed anywhere where doesn’t allow dogs in the living room.

Lovely Location

A lovely spacious cottage set in our beautiful rural location. A super place to relax and to enjoy the views from the hot tub. We loved having an open fire and an aga and watching the wildlife including pheasants and woodpeckers from the window. Fresh milk was available at the dairy close to the cottage. Having stayed at a number of other self catering cottages we were disappointed that none of the basics were provided, such as toilet rolls, milk, tea, coffee, hand towels (provided when requested), spare light bulbs, logs for the first fire, dishwasher salt to name a few. We really missed these usual welcoming touches. It would have been nice to have had a useful info folder to share how to use the aga, good places to eat, local markets, emergency doctors/dentist. Of course we could Google but local recommedations are always better.
