Lovely cottage in lovely surroundings, Cottage was immaculate and had every comfort needed, and kitchen extremely well stocked with utensils etc. Welcome pack was a lovely touch too. We took a dog so the field was great for us to use anytime. Loved the hot tub under cover, the only thing I would change is to have the swing doors full length so our dog could not get out when we were in the hot tub, this is not a criticism on the cottage, just would have made things easier for us, but our dog is large so managed to block the opening with the stools. There is no shop in the village, so if not planning on going far make sure you take everything you need. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Great cottage. Dog friendly with a field to walk the dog. Lovely hot tub. The area is lovely. Very rural. The pub serves great meals and is dog friendly. No shop in village but it’s a short drive to Bishop Auckland. Definitely recommend.

Loved our stay there, great for walking, lovely pub, owners really friendly and helpful, only down side is that my dog is a small terrier, so I suggest you take a tether lead. Could do with more tethering loops, specially around jacuzzi area, also need a sign when guests are arrive to say where the cottage is, as myself and friends drove in and out off the village afew times, the owners are aware but there house is grade 2 listed building, but putting a sign out on the day of arrivals would be helpful, then they could take it back in. Or maybe put it on their web site , but over all alovely location and cottage great hosts.

We enjoyed our stay. The hot tub area is best we have had and TV watching footie outside was mint. The upstairs was very nice. The only criticism I have is living room area is very dark and wasn't very homily and think it is more geared for people with dogs.

Really lovely cottage, secure and safe to enjoy as a family. Owners were amazing and always happy to help. Local pub really nice to eat in, no local shop but we got what needed out and about. Welcome basket was also a really nice touch.

Very relaxing few days in the quiet village of Hamsterly. Local pub Cross Keys just 2 minute walk away served good food. Roslyn cottage had everything you need with the extras including a fabulous private hot tub with great views over the fields. The owners were a lovely couple very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

Cottage was really clean and the Welcome Pack was a nice surprise. There was everything you needed for a self catering break. The hot tub was amazing and was enjoyed each day. The views across the paddock were really good. Visit to Hamsterley Forest is a must and the food at the local pub was excellent. Definitely recommend for a break away as location really relaxing. Thanks

The cottage is spotless. The kitchen area is well equipped. The living area was a bit stark, COVID being the reason for no soft furnishings, which is understandable but left it feeling like a waiting room rather than sitting room. The pub Cross Keys was busy at weekend so book early. Food 10 out of 10. Staff fantastic, dog friendly but locals just about tolerating the invasion of canine company. The hot tub brilliant and the paddock a God send. A little isolated, so you need to get out and about. A must visit is Hamsterley Forrest. Only 5 mins drive, fantastic cycling route. Considerate owners.
