very good...very private at rear hot tub/picnic etc

The lodges and hot tub were very clean and well maintained. However to be classed as '5 star', the lodges were lacking a few finishing touches - no lights over the bathroom mirror, an over mirror light in the bedroom with a plug socket for hair dryers etc would be helpful- the only plug sockets are by the bed. Having only exactly 4 sets of cutlery and crockery caused much washing up. Whilst what was provided in the kitchen was of good quality, there were no serving bowls (eg to make up a salad) and no casserole dishes to use in the oven. A couple of serving spoons would have been useful plus a non-stick pan. We had to buy a wooden spoon! The kitchen equipment was a bare minimum in quantity.

The lodge was clean, welcoming and the layout was very good and well thought through.

We were a couple and brought our dog. This was the smallest option though it sleeps 4. The lodge was clean and well furnished. There was a pint of milk in the fridge and tea/coffee/sugar/salt/pepper. A large fridge freezer is there. We brought a wooden spoon for stirring and a non stick pan both of which we needed. The little dishwasher was very useful and two tablets were supplied. Plenty of cutlery and crockery supplied. A roasting tin would be good! The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom well kitted with a good shower and plenty of hot water. There was a lovely big clock on the wall in the living area which irritated us beyond belief as it didn't work and was stuck on 8:45 - could it be sorted or removed? Central heating was very effective and warm, there was a log burner and plenty of wood supplied (there is a wood store next to the restaurant). No matches though so bring some as the hob/oven is electric! The hot tub was lovely though initially too cold but was serviced in no time and checked daily. However unlike some other lodges (we were in 32) it was placed behind a door outside and felt cut off from the lodge or patio. Hooks by the hot tub for the supplied gowns would be so useful please!! Be aware that in the many refuse areas you can recycle - renaming it to indicate it's a recycle/refuse area would help as there were a lot of glass bottles thrown in the waste bin. The grounds are very attractive and clean. There are many poo bag dispensers and accompanying poo bins too. We were delighted on entering the lodge to find that our dog had been well catered for. She had a bed, a dog bowl, a ball and a bag of treats! It all went down very well. She also loved sitting on the patio at night listening to the nightlife. We had a meal twice from the restaurant, due to Covid the eating area was outside so we had it delivered by ordering online from my phone. Ensure you order early to make sure you get it. We found meals satisfactory. I can't vouch for eating in though. Our biggest concern was locking the patio doors which was incredibly stiff. Also the front door latch would not close and to keep the door shut the locking mechanism of lifting the handle up had to be engaged. We reported these halfway through our holiday and decided to live with it so going by our very good experience of the staff we hope this has been fixed. If you bring your dog this is a very dog friendly lodge and there are lots of lovely walks. However your dog will be more on the lead than off (or should be) due to all the sheep so at least bring a long lead!

We loved our stay, the lodge was perfect and everything we could hope for. All staff we spoke with both before and after our stay were helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We found our lodge comfortable, the furnishings were modern and in good condition and the hot tub was perfect. Our dog loved the dog bed, toy and treats! The facilities on site were great as well, including the farm shop and the farm. and the onsite restaurant and bar. We have no complaints at all and will definitely be returning in the near future.

We really enjoyed our stay at Aysgarth Lodge Holidays. It was relaxing, beautiful surroundings, nearby walks and close to Aysgarth falls. We enjoyed having a drink at the bar. The hot tub was great to enjoy. Would love to return in the future. Only thing to say is lack of utensils, such as tongs. But we managed. It was great to have the option of delivery from the restaurant. We did this twice and both meals were excellent

Lovely Location, we had a Scandinavia 4 lodge, whilst fine I cannot say it is a 5 star accommodation However all was good and we would recommend and return Local area is fantastic with lots to do and see within a short walk / drive

Very nice lodge. Nice quiet location. 20 minute walk from Aysgarth Falls. On arrival lodge was clean/tidy even a bed, balls, bowls & treats for our dogs. Staff in site very friendly. Restaurant is nice albeit a limited menu with prices you’d expect from somewhere onsite. Our only gripe was the location of the hot tub, kind of in a fenced off part at the back of the lodger. And also could’ve done with a few more sockets. Overall though a lovely place in the Dale’s.

Perfect lodge for us. Two adults and one teen! Wonderful position, modern and clean. We loved it.
