We really enjoyed our break away, the park was very well kept and the caravan and hot tub were spotless as was the outdoor pool. Cannot comment on restaurant etc as not open when we were at park. The weather was great which added to the enjoyment, overall a lovely break thank you even though a little expensive for a short break. ,

Small single beds in twin rooms not that comfortable for an adult.

Did not use the Restaurant or Bar due to Covid 19 restrictions.

Would like some cushions on settee.

Only downside is the decking did not have a gate at the steps, so if we had brought the dog it wasn't totally secure for him.

Overall the holiday was fair to good however there were a number of issues that let the overall experience down. We stayed Monday to Friday. On arrival the reception was welcoming and the lodge was clean. After a long journey we were looking forward to a drink and snack at the on site restaurant however we were disappointed to find a sign affixed to the door stating ‘due to staff shortages closed until 6pm’, this is a sign that became very familiar during our stay. The lodge was nice however we did find one of the toilets made a loud noise at intervals throughout the night, we spoke to maintenance who’s only answer was for us to go and tell reception so they can check it before the nexts guests check in. Another big issue for us was the building work, which we were very close to and on the Wednesday morning, despite being assured that building work would only be taking place between 9-5 we were woken at 7 by a huge crane arriving on site and lifting concrete steps into the new pool facility (when booking the indoor pool facility should have been completed Easter 21 so it was a facility we had expected to be able to utilise, not endure the construction of. This only left the outdoor pool available, however we were VERY dissatisfied to only be able to use this once during our stay due to the park insisting upon a booking system due to Covid restrictions (despite us arriving on freedom day). Also the outdoor pool was closed on the Wednesday due to the construction work so it only allowed us to be able to book a slot Tuesday and Thursday however we tried to book and it was fully booked for our entire stay. I did complain to reception and they did manage to squeeze us in as a ‘cancellation’ at short notice but it only allowed us a 35 min swim for the entire holiday- leaving the entire family totally and utterly disappointed. Additionally there was only 1 evening during our stay when there was any form of entertainment however as this was the case it was very popular and we were turned away as they were full. As a family that had paid a significant sum of money to stay in on of their lodges it would be nice to be able to book a table - the amount of tourers and campers on their camping bays made the site too busy and left us unable to use the facilities we chose primary meadow for! They either need to make it bigger or have a separate space for the campers. Another issue we found was that despite the overall site being dog friendly the lodge itself wasn’t dog secure, the pictures of the accommodation on the site showed the deck and hot tub leading from double doors in the living room and yet with ours it was to the side of the lodge via the only door and the placement of a gate meant we couldn’t leave the door open without the dog escaping onto the road. This meant that we had to visit the local pets at home to get a dog playpen to ensure our dog didn’t escape. Had the gate been placed the other side of the door this wouldn’t have been a problem.

    Excellent

We would recommend this as a destination for young families rather than those with teenagers. It was a lovely location and suites more to the younger age group.

Lovely caravan with a great hot tub. Spacious living and outdoor area, bedrooms were a little tight but we chose a 3 bed instead of a 2 bed as out teenagers refuse to share! The sofa was a bit uncomfortable but the extra pillows from the spare beds helped fix that. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment.

Very small in bedrooms and bathrooms

Lovely accommodation. Extremely clean, comfortable beds. Just a note that the pillows are very thick which for me is perfect , I usually sleep with 3 thinner pillows at home but only needed one of the caravan pillows so I know some people might not be as comfortable. Great location to facilities and hot tub was a lovely extra with fenced in area that our dog could happily sit outside with us and not have to worry about her escaping.

Rude bar staff, small lodges compared to other holiday parks we have stayed at. Narrow doors and hallways. No space in any rooms at all. Sink and toilets far too close together. No extractor fans in the toilets. Water leaked through the roof in the kitchen creating puddles on the laminate floor. Poor lighting at night time around the entrance near speed bump. Next to no entertainment. We stayed in a lodge that was supposed to accommodate 6 people, we struggled with just the 2 of us, there is no way a family of 6 could stay there comfortably. Would not recommend.
