One of the best holidays we’ve had. The staff is so so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We had some issues with our kitchen and had to message them late evening, they attended straight away and sorted out for us in no time. Genuinely nice lovely people. The place is really clean, the hot tub is working perfectly fine and the heater is superb. Didn’t have anything bad to say! Thank you so much for all your help whilst we were there 🙂
value for money - due to bank holiday prices - extremely high charge. would come back at a more reasonable priced time, if i didnt have children who need to attend school ! was a one off treat.
Lovely 7 night stay at Hornbeam! The lodge was beautiful & ideal for what we were looking for! Gorgeous woodland walks nearby as well as a shop, a couple of eateries and a social club within walking distance! And to top it off, the weather was amazing too! Would definitely stay here again!
Needs tv in the bedrooms.
The lodge was tired and needed maintenance. One large lamp was dangerous as the top and shade were only balanced - neither worked. Black mould in shower cubicle. Lots of bulbs out. Staff were lovely but too few of them to do a proper cleaning job post-Covid. Disappointing for the amount of money we paid. Poorly equipped and not much in the way of cleaning equipment, eg dustpan and brush, esp with a dog. Room for improvement!
Lodge was good overall but the setting let it down. In the middle of a housing estate with little privacy.
The staff are really friendly, approachable, helpful and do a great job keeping the lodges clean and the surroundings tidy! The value for money of the lodges were great very spacious and the hot tubs are really good. Would recommend this place to anyone, its perfect for group/couple holidays and dog owners, absolutely no complaints and will definitely be returning soon!
Lovely week at Hornbeam, the site is very peaceful, quiet and well presented. The lodge itself was clean, spacious, well equipped and had plenty of storage space. Basically, everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The Wifi is not guaranteed but we did not experience any issues. The verandah around the lodge was secure so our dog could wander freely. Would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely return.
very clean and comfortable lodge, it was perfect escape if you looking for quite place for few days, staff was very friendly and helpful !!
Overall we were impressed with the Signature Spa Pet accommodation, more spacious than we were expecting. The lodge kitchen was well equipped and beds were really comfortable, the lodge could have done with some minor repairs (i.e door handle broken in bedroom, cooker hood broken and we were unable to use all the patio doors) but this didn’t impact on us enjoying our stay. It would have be helpful to have a broom available, especially when you have pets. The hot tub was great and the decking area was secure dogs, we would stay here again.
The park is situated at the end of a housing estate and is set out as separate closes/mews' that are bordered by evergreens. Each close of lodges are gated. We stayed in The Birches and the gate was never closed and if it was, it didn't matter as the number is taped onto the gate posts. Although surrounding our close were other closes of lodges, from 6am to 8am the road was busy (assume people going to work and deliveries from lorries). Initial impression of the close and lodge when driving in was good as the area looked smart. However on getting out of the car it can be seen that the outside needs some TLC with the decking being old/green and the decking banisters paint blistering or already come off. On opening the lodge, initial impression was great, looked lovely and homely. Generally clean but the shower ensuite was mouldy, including the showerhead which rendered it unusable. As check in is at 5pm (we arrived 5:30pm) the reception was closed so we couldn't ask for a reclean. However, the next morning this was reported and they attended and tried to clean as much as they could and they changed the shower head. However, there was still a lot of mould there and they were awaiting delivery of mould killer. Other things I didn't like about the lodge: one door of one set of patio doors had a broken handle (they knew about this and waiting for it to be repaired but there was no sign saying broken, don't use); the other set of patio doors was lose and had a large gap around the frame and unit (gave up reporting this by the time we discovered it); lots of lightbulbs were blown with all over the dining area gone (they replaced the dining area bulbs); kitchen utensils is space with some basic cooking utensils not all there; hot tub needs maintenance as the jets kept getting blown out (they knew and just said screw them back in as they can't get in it but screwing them in doesn't fix it); 9am check out. Wouldn't say this is a family park for with primary aged children as there is nothing to do. Local park has keep fit equipment, basketball court and a skateboard ramp, no playground. What I did like about the place: the decor is lovely; plenty of charging points in the lodge; furniture is comfortable; water pressure is great in the bathrooms; can park next to the lodge; lady in reception is wonderful, very friendly and helpful. She tries her best with what she has. She needs more support from the main company to deliver a top quality product (understand that the business is being bought out by another but no excuse to let things go!). Could be a lovely place if maintenance is reviewed and actioned. Ideal place if you want to do absolutely nothing. There are activities available 30mins to 1hr drive away.
If you are looking for a peaceful location and happy to drive to places you want to visit I can’t see what you wouldn’t enjoy. We had a signature spa accommodation which was fab. I would recommend. Sarah who works at the site is extremely conscientious and helpful.
See above Plus cabin was very welcoming especially the warm hot tub.
The lodge was lovely, very spacious and had everything we wanted, including hot tub.
Would definitely go back enjoyed the peaceful nice and friendly staff
