Excellent holiday home!

Great lodge- but undercounter fridge far too small to accommodate a self catering family of 4 !

The Lodge itself was very spacious, plenty of room for a family of 4. The living and sleeping areas were good for the family and the bedrooms were of good size too. However, the Suntrap is overdue maintenance in several areas. The TV Aerial was hanging off the roof, so was a little dangerous as it could have fallen, it also meant the TV channels were unavailable. The upstairs of the lodge was incredibly hot as well, even leaving the windows and doors open we couldn't get the temperature lower than 24C.

First impressions are everything! We arrived at 5.30 in the evening after being informed that arrival time had to be 5pm as the 'lodge had to be deep cleaned' due to covid precautions ( departure also put forward to 9am) . So 8 hours to clean, the terrace was filthy , thick dust on the outside table, cobwebs, dirty windows inside and out. The upstairs glass terrace panels were also thick with dust, bird droppings etc. Inside the kitchen also needed re-cleaning ( grease marks on cooker splash panel and crumbs in the oven. Further problems with dirty drawers and a sofa (well past its sell by date) with hairs, grit etc. To be fair after complaining the lodge was thoroughly cleaned but the stressful start, especially given our Covid worries, marred the holiday . The furniture in the lodge was a little 'tired'' but it was in a lovely , peaceful setting - no complaints there

Enjoyed it so much came home and booked straight away for next year. We did need to get hold of the owners during our stay but the owners details were not listed in the welcome folder, they were on the outside of the lodge on a plague which we did not notice. Contact details inside the folder would have made this information easily accessed.

Fantastic for a short getaway, but would be equally good for a family break.

Lovely place, high standard. Not a lot nearby but a good location for various activities. Compliments to the cleaners.

Just returned from a brilliant weeks holiday, wanted & needed a chill out week, definitely got that ! very comfortable beds, had the best sleep in ages.. lovely peaceful location .. golf a stones thro from the lodge which pleased us ! good price for the golf as well.. shame buggy’s had to be back so early, so was unable to take one out the first day, but then went out earlier next time played so they could use a buggy…. Went to the Bell just as you go over the bridge and a couple of minutes away from the lodges, had two great meals, then also tried the priory on the other side of the road, again had great food. Would definitely recommend Lodges and pub/restaurant and hope to go back again …
