Onto the lodge itself. Bearing in mind the price, we were not expecting 5-star luxury - but our first impressions were that the lodge was so sparsely furnished. It felt like there was a huge amount of wasted space. On looking around, I was pleased to see that there were ample chest of drawers, but there were no wardrobes. All there was to hang clothes up was a free-standing clothes rail in the master bedroom. As a couple with one child, I can honestly say that we hung up everything we needed to with no space to spare. If six people were staying, it's really just not enough space. We did ask one of the cleaners whether other lodges were set up similarly, and she said that only a couple of lodges (those that sleep 8) had an additional clothes rail. Although it was a 6-berth lodge, we were only supplied towels for 3 people. Some might say that's being ecologically sound - but in the middle of summer, towels can start to smell after a while - and in a lodge with no washing machine, you're stuck with it. Frankly, if we've paid the same as 6 people would, then I think that 6 sets of towels should be expected. There is no oven glove. That's probably understandable with Covid - but is inconvenient if you want to cook - so take your own. There were a lot of insects/spiders in the lodge. I suspect that some of these entered via the roof-space and then where some of the downlighters in the master bedroom had been knocked out of their fitting holes. Anyone with a real fear of spiders isn't going to enjoy this. Due to the height of the ceilings upstairs, it's not even possible to remove/splat spiders on the ceiling! There's another really stupid element to the lodge, and it's the way that the rear outside lighting is wired. It's different to the front where you can switch on the outside lights independently. At the back, you have to have the rear interior lodge lights on in order to switch the outside lights on. That's really silly, because as soon as you open the door for a late night hot tub session, loads of gnats or moths fly in. And it's too dark to go out there without the lights on. The hot tub is nice. It would be crowded with more than 3-4 people in it, but it's perfect for the lodge. I saw it being maintained just once during the holiday - but then again, because it's at the back, and is not on decking, the maintenance team could come and go without disturbing us much. In lodges 1-6, the hot tubs are at the back and are fairly secluded. Across the road though, the tubs are at the front of the lodges - and lacked much privacy at all. That's probably about it for the lodge, except to say that all of the plumbing is good. No wobbly toilets, and all sinks/showers working properly. Although I did have one shock when the kitchen mixer pipe came off in my hand, and water went all over the work-surface. It had simply been undone or worked loose, and was not actually faulty - so just watch out for that one!

Went for long weekend, lodge was really nice and hot tub was great, nice relaxing weekend and town centre just a short drive, nothing exciting about the marina, my only gripe would be that I'd take my own pillows next time

There is nothing in the location itself, just the lodges. The roads leading up to the lodge are not tar matted well. Hugh potholes, so if you have a car which is low profile, then forget about taking it. The stay was nice, rooms are clean, modern and everything worked perfectly fine. I had no contact with staff so can not comment about them. I would look at returning at some point. Would recommend there is some information provided about the local area. Hot tub was excellent, however not private.

A nice lodge but could be a lot better with a little money spent on it. The dishwasher didn't wash properly and dishes needed to be washed by hand afterwards. Light fitting in bedroom hanging out. Crumbs between sofa cushions. Chunk of work surface broken off in front of sink in kitchen. Numerous dirty marks on walls. Curtains were dirty on entrance door. No information pack with local attractions etc. Downstairs toilet was over filling which we had to isolate. Needs coat hooks downstairs as nowhere to hang coats. Both upstairs bedrooms need a wardrobe, there is one hanging rail in one room. Both upstairs bathrooms need a toilet roll holder on wall, a shelf above sink and a shelf in the shower cubicle as you have to put toiletries on the floor. Although the hot tubs have a nice wooden screen around them, there is no privacy and other lodges can see you.

Nice accommodation. Needed a refresh and the pots and tray were very well used. The marina needed work done to it. Be careful on your way in as the road has a lot of potholes.

Spacious lodge, comfy beds, great showers, lovely hot tub. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses. More/varied cooking implements wouldn’t go a miss. Everything was clean and tidy, well looked after. Didn’t have a welcome pack as advertised but that’s a luxury, could have done with a binbag in the kitchen though.
