Railway Carriage One (ref E5337) is an authentic, beautifully restored Mid-Suffolk Light Railway carriage on the Brockford Sidings site. It is a delightful, well-appointed carriage and offers unique holiday accommodation for families and couples in the heart of Suffolk. The open plan small kitchen is well-stocked and has a hob, oven, microwave and TV. The carriage has single step access from the easy access rail platform, and boasts great views across the countryside and good outside space.
Railway Carriage Two (ref E5601) is the largest carriage at Brockford Siding, and has accommodation for up to six people. Reviews

Wilby Halt ( Brockford railway sidings) is fabulous. Very quiet & peaceful, the nearby pool, hot tub & sauna are a real plus as they can be booked for private use . The accommodation is spot on & very comfortable .There are some great pubs & a veggie/vegan restaurant within 5 or 6 miles , but you do have to drive to get there . We will definitely be going back  Rob, Fleur & Tillie

Nice place to stay. A little bit out of the way and at nighttime it is down a very dark lane so not the best for driving. However, we were plagued with flies and wasps during the whole of our stay and no amount of fly spray got rid of the devils!

My Son loved staying in train carriages and the quiet surroundings - I would recommend this as a great holiday destination for other families with autistic children / young adults.

Very nice location with plenty to do, good to be able to use a swimming pool. The concept is cute and equipped with the right stuff, heater if it gets a bit cold.

We enjoyed a great week here. Judy and her husband could not do enough for us. Our shower was faulty and quickly replaced so it didn't detract from our holiday. The laundry facilities were a welcome extra so we didn't come home with the usual bagfuls of washing! The area was great for cycling but there wasn't much at all within walking distance. We did enjoy our steam engine Sunday morning at the Middy railway yard literally a couple of hundred yards away, but sadly the attached bar/cafe was closed on the evening we arrived. Luckily, we had arranged for a Waitrose delivery that evening so we didn't starve! The swimming pool was disappointingly murky, although it did start to clear by the end of the week, but I am afraid I found it too off-putting in the current climate. All things considered, we would thoroughly recommend this place for a family holiday, but you do need to be willing to drive around to visit attractions and to eat out. PS This area does seem prone to a proliferation of flying insects, so take fly papers and repellant spray to keep them at bay.

Fabulous quaint tranquil setting. The carriages definitely take you back to a bygone era. They are so authentic the smell of the wood and the creeks when you walk are amazing. I would definitely recommend this holiday as a complete break away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Judith left a chocolate cake and pint of milk which was a really lovely surprise and very welcome after a long journey. All I can say is try this fantastic place for yourself you won't be sorry. We will definitely be back.

Wilby Halt was extremely comfortable and well set up. The location is very easy to access and was central for a trove of historical visits. The weather turned cold and wet but the heating is effective and simple to use and despite having to 'cross the platform,' it was no problem. Parking is directly adjacent. The carriages are full of interesting detail and we highly recommend this site. The other holiday homes looked just as good.
