Had an amazing time at Kielder and will definitely return to the Willow platinum swim lodge.

High quality fixtures, fittings, furniture, bedding, towels, kitchen equipment and the large hot tub was superb.

Beautiful lodge if kept to the standard it was described as, too many small issues regarding maintenance that was frustrating. Cobwebs, hot tub not the cleanest.

Just returned from a Friday to Monday break at Kielder Waterside Lodges, staying in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom lodge with swim hot tub. First impressions were brilliant. Well organised remote check-in. Plenty of towels. Beds made. Milk in the fridge and coffee, tea and biscuits provided as well as a tea towel and washing up liquid, which was great as we forgot that. The hot tub was out of this world. The overall stay has been an absolute pleasure but I need to make some constructive comments. The reason given for the late check-in/early check-out was for thorough and deep cleaning due to covid. Whilst the lodge appeared spotless and in many respects it was, closer inspection proved differently. The oven wasn't particularly clean and the surrounding edges were clogged with old grease. The carpet under the bed in our double room obviously hadn't been vacuumed as there was a sweet wrapper left there. The set-up of the TV was really strange as it wasn't the original remote control but only that for the iptv box used to show a very limited range of television channels. The controllers for the PS4 were not charged and we were unable to charge them as they were faulty. We live in an age where we have many choices in our viewing for entertainment and this was denied by the removal of these options, either by faulty equipment or restrictive equipment. You may argue that we aren't there for tv but we made the most of the beautiful surroundings during the day and wanted options for our family time at night in order to make the most of the lodge that we paid just under £900 for. Our checkout time was also made earlier for these 'extra' cleaning processes so we decided to have breakfast at the on site cafe. Bearing in mind we left the lodge before 9, when we got to the cafe it didn't open until 9.45! Not only is this poor customer service it is also a loss of business for the site. The site itself is beautiful and really well kept. The on site restaurant is really good and not overly expensive. The reception staff were lovely. Really pleasant and helpful. The birds of prey enclosure was a real treat and the staff there were so dedicated and enthusiastic. We had a lovely time and we would love to visit again but it would be helpful to know that the relatively small issues we did have would be addressed.
