Booked this for 7 of us and two dogs as moms 50th birthday present/celebrations. Well. What a shame. Huge disappointment. The place was filthy. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months the amount of dust and cobwebs that there were. Bedding was stained, dread to think what was on there. Filthy bathrooms, bins not emptied from persons staying there before. Even the hot tub was dirty. Such a shame as the location is gorgeous, place is very spacious and the garden is perfect-large and secure for the dogs. Gutted is an understatement. Can't believe the state of it considering we are in the middle of a pandemic!! Won't be visiting again.

We've just had an excellent stay here. Steve couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The accommodation was great and the jacuzzi was brilliant. We loved the location and the garden was perfect really big and safe for children at the ash cottage. The TV was huge and linked straight up to my phone so I could play anything through my iPlayer and Netflix etc. We've already booked again for next year.

Lovely short break away in Ash Cottage. Very spacious property, huge enclosed garden, bluetooth hot tub, wifi. Cannot fault the place, not the most modern but it was clean, comfortable and in good condition. Location we found to be great for us, only a short drive to shops etc otherwise it's out in the sticks which is what we wanted. There are a few more lodges on the site but although it's a small site, there's plenty of space between properties and feels quite private (and quiet!). If I was being very picky, there were no condiments provided (salt, pepper etc) - presumably due to covid restrictions but would've thought sachets were OK? And no handwash in the bathrooms, or washing up liquid, sponge/dishcloths, or tablets for the dishwasher in the kitchen so we had to go out and buy all these things - if we had known we would've brought some from home. However there is a big Tesco 5 minutes up the road so this is a really minor thing but hopefully useful info for anyone else staying here in the near future so they know to bring their own supplies. Owners were lovely, very friendly. Would definitely recommend and will be looking to see when we can book a return visit.

Ash Lodge is a superb holiday cottage. Unfortunately slightly let down by lack of maintaining. We had to carry out repairs to the shower door and garden fence (to keep our dog from escaping), and the bathroom door lock didn't work. Overall though, these were small issues, and apart from these, we were very pleased with the property.

Ash cottage was lovely, spacious and very quiet. Comfortable beds for a great night sleep. Could do with having plastic ( easy clean) draw storage in the bathrooms to put toiletries in and a towel rail other then that it was a great place to stay and have our staycation. Would recommend

The downstairs bathroom window strangely had clear glass which meant the black blind was permanently down. The shower cubicle was moldy. There’s plenty of mold remover sprays or good old fashioned bleach to use.The toilet brush looked as if things were living in it! I believe we should have been supplied anti bacterial hand wash, one in either bathrooms. None supplied so we bought our own for the two bathrooms. The fly problem mentioned earlier wasn’t helped by the dirtiest mop u can imagine and no lid for the bin. The saving grace was the hot tub and the extra large enclosed garden. This could be a fantastic place if more attention was made to the cleaning I don’t understand how they can ignore the cleaning basics especially during a pandemic.
