Reviews

Lovely house with hot tub and great views.

We had a lovely week here in July 2021. House was immaculate and lots of space to relax in. Best part of the house was the views and spacious garden. Hot tub was lovely and again great views day or night. Easy drive or longer walk to Clun with amenities and had a nice few trips out to Ludlow and other areas. Lovely to see the ponies and horses each day in the next field. Due to location by fields and the heat there was a lot of flies but small compromise for location and views. Would definitely book again.

Fantastic

Group of 10 of us met her for our annual weekender. We’ve been meeting up for years now and have been to many places. This was one of the best. The house is superb, large enough to spread out and cosy enough to get together and chill. We ordered our shopping online and had it delivered. We then relaxed and enjoyed the walks and the scenery for the weekend. Hot tub was lovely, a little old and could do with updating as it was a little cool but we didn’t let that ruin our time here. We loved it so much I booked us back in for next year.

Annual get together

Bicton Lea was booked through Sykes Cottages for our annual get together. The place was absolutely lovely- spacious, very clean and with the most splendid views over the Shropshire countryside. It was fully equipped with everything you needed and the hot tub was a great asset. We have stayed in the area before but all agreed that it was the best yet and we would all recommend the place to friends and family. Thoroughly enjoyed the place and could not fault it.

Miss

Recently visited as a group of 8 ladies 5 of us returned with Hot Tub Foliculitis - an infection caught from a bacteria present in poorly maintained hot tubs. Whilst we were there no one came to check that the tub was chemically balanced. A book of instructions was left telling us to ensure the water level was topped up but no chlorine tabs were left for us to replenish the floater. It is a duty of care for the owners to maintain good hygiene levels in the hot tub. They have refused to admit any liability. A 2 night break has resulted in us having to seek medical advice and take a weeks coarse of antibiotics!! just hope no-one else has to suffer like we have.

Poor sanitising

Group of 8 women spent the weekend here as there was a hot tub which was lovely. Whilst we were there for three days no one came and checked the hot tub which as resulted in us all catching folliculitis a bacteria that lives in poor sanitised hot tubs. We all have had to take time out of work to get checked and all confirmed and are now on antibiotics. The spots are really sore and itchy. The owners of this cottage do not want to know and will not take responsibility for their poor hygiene. Avoid this place .
