General Info

Insch 1.5 miles. Resting amongst idyllic countryside in the peaceful village of Insch in Aberdeenshire is this stylish detached annex, Garden Studio. Ideal for an intimate retreat for a couple or a base for a solo traveller, the annex boasts far-reaching countryside views and a gorgeous hot tub, making it a wonderful destination for your next trip to Scotland. On arrival at Garden Studio, park your car in one of three off-road spaces and make your way into your home-from-home. Step into the ground floor which hosts a living/dining room, perfect for enjoying your breakfast while admiring the view through the patio doors. From here, take advantage of the kitchen/diner and whip up a delicious meal to fuel your day of adventures. Just off the kitchen/diner you will find a handy utility so you can freshen your clothes and towels throughout your stay. After dining alfresco at the picnic bench in the garden, enjoy a soak in the hot tub while taking in the fresh air and tranquil setting before rinsing off in the shower room and heading to bed. Climb the stairs to the mezzanine bedroom, home to a TV and a plush double, where you can rest your eyes ahead of another busy day of exploring your surroundings. If you can tear yourself away from this charming abode, venture out for date night at one of the nearby restaurants such as quirky Morgan McVeighs, visit the gift shop at Kellockbank Country Emporium, or perhaps spend a day in the beautiful city of Aberdeen. The historic city is home to the fascinating Aberdeen Science Centre, where you can unleash your curious side and learn about the world of science. For a relaxing day of walking, make your way to Cruickshank Botanic Park to discover the delightful rose garden and rock and water gardens, or for a picnic in the heart of the city, Seaton Park is within easy reach and makes for a lovely day out. Just a short drive from the annex is Slains Castle, ruins of a 16th century castle which still tower above its picture-perfect surroundings. Heading in the opposite direction, you will reach Craigievar Castle, a castle dating back to 1626, boasting magnificent Jacobean Woodwork and a distinguishable pinkish tinge - a photo opportunity not to be missed! Garden Studio is a romantic retreat, ideal for explorers and relaxers alike, all year round. Read More
