Reviews

Heathcliffe Lodge was thoroughly well equipped with a high standard of fixtures and fittings, it was a pleasure to stay there. The hot tub was well maintained and spotless. We would definitely recommend to my friends and family to book and stay.

We were greeted by the owner as soon as we arrived and shown how to use everything eg shower, wifi etc. Everything in the lodge was clean, and was in a great location. Couldn't have asked for more, beds were extremely comfy, hot tub was fabulous and overall was just a great place to stay.

The property was excellent. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Situated in an Ideal location for visiting all areas north south east and west. We will definitely be returning

Heathcliff Lodge was very nice and in a lovely place. It was easy for travelling to different places and had plenty nearby to see. The peace and quiet was also lovely. All in all a superb property.

The owner was very welcoming and explained where everything was and suggested good days out and places to eat. The lodge was beautiful and the beds were so comfy. The hot tub was amazing and was used nearly every day. The views are beautiful and it was so peaceful. The welcome pack was a lovely touch.

Lodge was finished to a very high standard. Really clean had everything you could possibly need. Excellent location.

Had a lovely week at Heathcliff Lodge. The accommodation was superb, we did not want for anything, everything was provided for and was top quality. The owner was friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this Lodge to anybody, and hope we will be able to return there soon. The hot tub was gorgeous, and all the fixtures and fittings in the Lodge were luxurious, especially the bathrooms. Anybody lucky enough to visit here would have a great time.

7/10

Nice place, owner was friendly, however failed to tell us that we should take the plastic duck out of the hot tub while in the hot tub as this held the chlorine tablets for the hot tub. not knowing this my wife's skin reacted badly to the chlorine. Shower looked great on pictures but if your over 6ft like me then it meant i had to sit down in it to use it - not ideal. heating didn't work in the master bedroom or en suite but as only there for 4 days didn't see the need to raise this. I would like to state that this place advertised as not allowing dogs which is great as i am very allergic to dog hairs but was surprised to see what i can only presume was the owners dog running around the site trying to get into the lodges and would randomly appear at your window on the terrace. From the pictures Heathcliff lodge at the front looks like the balcony terrace is enclosed which i though was great for my small kids meaning i could allow them out thinking they would be enclosed but that was not the case, it was only enclosed on 2 sides. Based on the above points id give this place 7/10”

Amazing would highly recommend

Had a fantastic holiday and was sad to leave. The lodge is easy to find set on a working farm and is secluded and private. The lodge is luxury with every detail thought about so it really is a home from home. The shower was amazing and everything is provided included washing machine facilities. The underfloor heating is a good touch. Very modern and homely. Cliff the owner is lovely and helpful and his dog Maxwell visited us everyday much to my girls delight. We were in the hot tub every night. Amazing places to visit such as Forbidden corner and Richmond. We will be returning again as we had a awesome time.

Simply Wonderful!

We had the most fantastic week in the lodge. So easy to find and pick up the keys. We loved all the attention to detail. It really has the wow factor in abundance. Very high end accommodation for such a good price. They had everything you needed and more, great little drying room for the washing, underfloor heating, each room temperature controlled. It was great for our children aged 10 and 2.5. The hot tub was heaven! Cliff was such a great host. Thank you so much for an amazing week!

Utter luxury and relaxation.

We arrived just after 3, collected keys from self-service key safe (brilliant idea). Easy to find with good instructions provided. Cottage was impeccably clean. All fit and finishings were modern and in tip-top condition. Clearly maintained with a lot of (well deserved) pride. It had all the mod cons we could need for a week away. The lodge itself was very sizeable, with each room on it's own thermostat with underfloor heating. Although made of timber, it was exceptionally well insulated, and a loud TV in the living area was inaudible from the master bedroom with the doors closed. All in all, a beautiful and luxurious living environment. But also practically thought out, and luxurious without being pretentious. There's none of that nerve-destroying-white-carpets throughout thing going on here, you walk in onto a tiled floor in the hallway and can drop muddy boots straight into the utility room, and there's a full set of polycarbonate glasses to sup from when using the hot tub. It's properly usable luxury and feels homely. The lodge feels nicely secluded, and is on a stretch of beautiful, arable farmland. The hot tub is very private and not overlooked. Soaking in the hot tub at night under the stars and/or light drizzle was blissful. When we went there I had been through a hellish couple of months at work. My skin had gone to pot, and I was suffering chronic sciatica. By the end of our stay my back felt fine, my skin had cleared up, and I felt as well and relaxed as I can remember feeling in years. Even my wife, who has chronic PTSD and suffers very bad agoraphobia when she leaves the house, felt safe and relaxed there. In short, we both found Heathcliff Lodge to be as close to perfection as we could have hoped for. We cannot get over how good value it was (would have been 2-3x that price down our end in the Cotswolds) and will be booking again soon to return next year. It really was that good.

Just right, relaxing home from home holiday

We arrived at Heathcliff Lodge to a lovely welcome by Cliff, the owner and his two dogs Maxwell and Sam who are very friendly Maxwell would later come and visit us most days as we sat on the decking . When you arrive follow the signs for cornfield lodge as Heathcliff is not signposted yet, so parking is in the same place as cornfield which is next door. The welcome pack was a real treat and the amazing rain-forest shower that had different water jets and very large fluffy towels made us feel very special. The beds were so comfortable and the lodge had lovely views. The hot tub was a treat everything was spotless and comfortable. There was plenty of washing/dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls so no need to bring your own. Northallerton is a very central place with loads of places to visit and things to do. Will defiantly be back

Fantastic place to stay

Two couples stayed in this lodge for a week and wow what a lovely place. We were welcomed by Cliff, the owner and his two dogs Maxwell and Sam who are very friendly and very well behaved. The lodge was beautiful and Cliff showed us how to operate everything. The welcome pack was lovely and included a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates. Cliff was very helpful with suggestions on places to visit and to eat. The lodge had everything that you would need including an amazing shower that had led lights, different water jets including a waterfall feature. The beds were so comfortable and i didnt want to get out each morning. The views are beautiful. The hot tub was lovely to sit in at the end of each day overlooking the fields and watching the sunset. The lodge is about 20-30 minute walk into Northallerton which is a nice walk. Will definitely go back again.
