With easy access to the market town of Brampton and the thriving Lake District National Park, this lodge makes for a perfect base for a couple or solo traveller to explore the area or stay in and relax in peace. On arrival at the lodge, park your car and make your way through the wooden-fence-lined path to reach your abode for the trip, adding to the naturistic feel in the area. Climb the step up to the decking and make your way inside to discover a convenient open-plan living space. In the morning, wake up with a refreshing shower in the sleek fitted shower room, before taking your coffee outside for a moment of relaxation to start the day. For days out while in the area, head to the nearby Wetheral Priory Gatehouse; once an ancient Benedictine monastery, the impressive building is now a popular tourist destination. Slightly further afield is the city of Carlisle, home to Bitts park and the tribe tourist attraction a charming park ideal for an afternoon picnic. Brush up on your history while in the area, the Guildhall Museum and Cumbria's Museum of Military Life both rest within the city centre and make for a fascinating visit. While you are in the area, be sure to visit the Lake District National Park where you can explore the varying terrains and landscapes including the dramatic Ullswater Lake and Aira Force Waterfall, Windermere, Bassenthwaite and Derwentwater and for those who are more of an energetic type, there are plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling and watersports on these stunning lakes. The Perfect Private Hideaway

The Shepherd's Sunset at High Rigg was the perfect private hideaway for us. Set in it's own private area with an outdoor seating area and a covered hot tub, the property had superb views. Very well appointed and equipped the property had everything we needed and much more besides. We were also welcomed with a homemade shepherd's pie and a bottle of fizz. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here and we cannot wait to return.
