General Info

This Staffordshire village of Forsbrook is the home to a pretty semi-detached property, Rose Cottage, situated close to all your amenities and nearby to lots of attractions. With two bedrooms, this cottage is suitable for a small family or couples, with quality furnishings and well-presented décor. Set over three floors, we begin on the ground-floor and enter straight into the sitting room; two inviting leather sofas are waiting to be snuggled up on in front of the woodburning stove and the huge 50” Smart TV, a fantastic source of entertainment on a rainy day or a quiet evening. Move into the conservatory next door to relax in the rays from a plush chair, with another TV in this room (to prevent fighting over the channels!), it makes a lovely spot to sit with a morning brew. Following into the dining room you will immediately notice the impressive decorative fireplace, lovingly restored and gelling perfectly with the oak oval dining table, a place for gathering together and enjoying excellent food. From here we reach the kitchen with a country farmhouse theme showing in the stable door to the back garden, and the Range-style cooker and gas hob, you will love preparing everything from breakfast, to picnics to evening meals in this pleasant space. Wander out of the stable door and take a look at the excellent garden, a gorgeous spot for a sunny day, the kids can run around on the lawn while the hot tub heats up within the secluded decking to the back, hop in for a relaxing dip and relax, you’re on holiday! When another exciting day is done, head upstairs to the first floor to find the double bedroom and bathroom, where an elegant iron double bed frame sits under the exposed beams and across from the pretty antique dressing table and decorative fireplace, with white walls and beautiful bedding this is a wonderful place to rest your head. The bathroom has a classic roll top bath with a modern shower overhead, the white fittings contrasting against the vibrant feature wallpaper wall. Move further up another set of stairs to the twin room continuing the bright and airy décor of the rest of the property, a great spot for the little ones especially when you have a stairgate available, or if it’s for a couple then the beds can be put together to make a super-king via a mattress topper, the choice is yours. A short stroll will bring you to the amenities of Forsbrook, dine out for an evening or two to take a night off from the kitchen at one of the several pubs serving lovely classic dishes, start the day with breakfast or brunch at one of the cafes before heading further afield. Just under 10-miles away is the fantastic and thrilling Alton Towers so if you and your loved ones enjoy some breath-taking excitement then you can spend the day flying through the air on the many roller-coasters and rides that lie not far away. For a less adrenaline-filled day, in the opposite direction is Trentham Gardens, a 725-acre estate to explore including within it a Monkey Forest with monkeys living in total freedom, you can walk along the woodland trails and observe their everyday antics for yourself! The garden centre and shopping village make for lovely browsing with cafes and restaurants too so you can stop for a bite to eat, or for those who still want more active fun, then try out their Treetop Adventures with over 28 exciting treetop obstacles, maybe you’ll get some tips from the monkeys beforehand! Whatever your choice of activity, Rose Cottage is a gorgeous property that will await your return after each exciting day out. Read More

Beautiful Cottage! Would definitely recommend!

A beautiful cottage with everything you could imagine and more.... We loved staying here! The personal touches on arrival made us feel so welcome right from opening the front door. The kids loved the sweets and the brownies are the best ever!!! The cottage is so well thought out and has all you would need home from home. The garden & hot tub were lovely to relax in! Tracey and Mick are both lovely hosts, nothing is too much trouble Pubs, shops and lovely walks near by, as well as a big park for the kids a short drive away! Honestly we thoroughly enjoyed it and will be sure to return!

Fabulous relaxing little gem of a cottage!

What a lovely little cottage! Nice area for walks out in the countryside. Very close to amenities and pubs (pubs only a short walk away!). We enjoyed the charm of the building with it’s oak beams and cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Lovely garden that captures a lot of the sun and with the addition of a well placed hot tub a very relaxing weekend was had. Tracey was a fabulous host and the brownies, Prosecco and the oatcakes were a very welcoming touch. We would thoroughly recommend Rose Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing time in a beautiful little home.

My husband, me and our dog Blue had 4 wonderful nights at Rose cottage. The cottage is beautiful and clean with loads of amenities. You can watch the massive TV, relax in the amazing garden, float in the hot tub or play on the Xbox. We did them all and still had time to enjoy just relaxing in a perfect gem of a cottage. The cottage is in the centre of a small village and there was everything you could wish for on the doorstep; local bars, restaurants, takeaways, a fish and chip shop,a supermarket,a butcher, a baker, (no candlestick maker though). Lastly; the surrounding area is stunming. We went to Dimmingsdale for a fabulous walk in the Churnett Valley; followed by a light lunch at the Ramblers Retreat. We absolutely loved it, the dog is still depressed because we had to come home.

Feet up and comfortable

A brief birthday break that needed a little bit of everything. In house rooms, all pleasingly decorated and well equipped, comfortable beds, nice and clean. Good sized kitchen because everyone knows the best parties are always in the kitchen. Local pubs within a hop skip and a jump with decent beers and food choice. Curry house just around the corner ticked another box on the todo list, finally retiring with a hot tub waiting to be explored. Did I mention the brownies the owner left as part of the welcome pack...lovely thought...did I mention I should be on a diet... oh well...yum yum.

Cosy Cottage, brilliant location

We had a wonderful stay at Rose Cottage, great location, couple of pubs in the village and nice Indian restaurant. Centrally situated to easily access the Peak District & Staffordshire Moorlands, Monkey Forest, Alton Towers, Gladstone Pottery Museum & Leek was really nice to walk around with loads of independent shops. The cottage was spotlessly clean (we found out the owners even empty the hot tub water and clean it after every visit), cosy and welcoming, just like the owner who even baked us some delicious brownies for our arrival. Would definitely recommend, we’ll be returning.
