Had a fantastic stay at High Lodge, great location for exploring Suffolk, especially the seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold. At the moment the site has just over 20 lodges, with 4 superior lodges. The main purpose of the site is for clay pigeon shooting and fishing so there is obviously some gun shot noise but only in the day. We did have a go at clay pigeon shooting and it was good fun so definitely worth a try. The site has a cafe that does breakfast and lunches and also offers pizza nights. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food. Staff at reception were very helpful and recommended a couple of local pups that we visited for early evening food and both were very good. The lodge itself was very spacious and the hot tub was an added bonus. The crockery and cutlery was limited as you’d expect in the current climate but the whisk was rusty and we didn’t have a bottle opener so maybe take any extra things like this. Loved the fact that we could easily visit all the lovely places of Suffolk and the. Head back to the peace of the lodge.
Luxurious lodge. Great hot tub.
