The Hot Tub

    Location

The Croft is a lovely property, nicely converted from an old barn and with good quality furnishings and fittings. It is very spacious and offers more than enough space for six adults. The outside space with hot tub and barbecue and large table, (although slightly bizarrely this was removed and replaced with a smaller table midway through our stay), is perfect for those occasional Lake District days when the rain stays away, and in fact the shelter over the hot tub makes it an all-weather space. The Lake is a pleasant 3 minute stroll across the field in front of the house and while there is easy access to the rest of the Park it is nice to have the additional privacy of being a little way away from it. As other reviewers have noted The Croft is hard up against a working farm with associated sounds and smells. Light sleepers could be affected by the barking from a large pack of Beagles that appear to be kept overnight in a neighbouring barn. This little detail didn’t affect our enjoyment of the property and overall we would highly recommend it.

Fabulous Accommodation at The Croft. Beautifully converted barn and very clean and modern. Felt As Covid safe as you could be there. Very easy and safe check in. Gorgeous bed linen and quality fittings throughout. Everything you need in the kitchen! Very thoughtful touch of dog bowls, towels and treats too for each of them. (The reason I scored 9 instead of 10, was that there are several hounds in farm building next door that barked around 4.30am each morning, so if you are a light sleeper, like me, that affected me and my dogs, who also barked back!) If not for that, it would have been 100% perfect!

High standard, well laid out, spacious accomodation next to this picturesque site. Shame there's nowhere for wet/muddy, boots/coats. The noise from the dogs on the adjacent farm not great for light sleepers so take decent ear plugs. Otherwise had a fantastic, much needed break.

Unfortunately I would not return or recommend this cottage as the constant barking from the dogs next door during the night lasted hours. It you expect sleep this is not the place to book! I will be following this up with customer services.
