General Info

Conwy 2.5 miles. The Old Stable is a converted stable and cart shed, nestled against a 17th century farmhouse at the heart of the small village of Henryd, Conwy. Enjoying mountain views to the rear, The Old Stable is perfectly located, being just 500m away from the boundary of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and only 2½ miles from Conwy. Make yourself at home in the lounge, curling up on the sofa or armchair. Put your feet up as you ponder on the day’s events, catch up on your latest “binge-watch” or dive into the selection of board games supplied. The contemporary kitchen/diner is well equipped for you to cook up your favourite dishes and eat at the round table looking onto the courtyard garden and the view beyond the owners’ garden. Fling the patio doors open in summer to enjoy the afternoon and evening sun. A bistro set is provided at the front of the property to catch the morning sun; a great breakfast spot. Up the stairs you’ll find the bedroom, complete with a king-size bed, vaulted ceilings and beams. A shower room is just outside the bedroom door. A short drive brings you into beautiful Conwy; an historic walled town with its ancient castle, the smallest house in Britain and the picturesque quay - the perfect place to rest and watch the world pass by. Blessed with a good selection of independent shops, galleries, cafes, pubs and restaurants, you can easily pass a relaxing day here. There is a plethora of beautiful walks locally or just a short drive away. Whether you prefer short pub walks from the cottage, views from the nearby Conwy mountain, hiking in Eryri (Snowdonia), roaming around the nearby Bodnant Gardens or RSPB reserve, exploring the Great Orme with its famous goats, or an evening beach walk, all within easy reach. Dip into the wood-fired hot tub on your return to ease those aching muscles. The owners live next door so can be on hand to help light it if needed. If it’s traditional seaside fun you crave, then head into Llandudno just five miles away; with its two beaches, pier and promenade, fun fair, cable-car ride, shops, restaurants and amusements, this Victorian seaside jewel won’t disappoint. In the evening why not take in a show, film or concert at Venue Cymru? Higher octane pastimes can be found a short drive away at Llandudno Snowsports Centre or Zipworld. If mountain or road biking is your passion, safe bike storage is available at the property. With all this plus Rhos-on-Sea, Colwyn Bay, Caernarfon, Anglesey and Betws-y-Coed just a scenic drive away, The Old Stable provides a great break in any season. Read More

Reviews

Beautiful.

The cottage is spotless and all the essentials are on hand They respect your privacy, but also very helpful if you need them and we enjoyed talking to them. The cottage is beautiful, we had 3 lovely nights sleep, very peaceful surroundings. The hot tub was very nice with a relaxing glass of wine and if you want total privacy just draw the curtains. Location perfect, short walks or longer to enjoy the surroundings. Conwy is about 2 mile drive away, nice pubs and restaurants. Two pubs which serve food 20min. or 40min walking distance from the cottage. We used the local taxi company one night, very good and reasonable. Yes we will definitely return.

Lovely - one of the best places we have stayed

Really enjoyed our stay. Cottage was lovely, really clean, comfortable and well looked after, it was well equipped with everything we needed. It is in a great location for exploring North Wales by car or foot. The owners, Janet and John, live next door and are very welcoming, friendly and on hand if you need them for anything. The hot tub was lovely to relax in after a days exploring, it is in the owners garden, but you have complete privacy when using it. We were lucky to have good weather, so was able to sit out on the patio on an evening enjoying a drink. Would definitely return.
