Thirlmere is a tastefully decorated and spacious lodge at White Cross Bay, on the main route leading to the lake, about 200 yards away. Thirlmere sleeps four people, with room for an infant in a cot, and has a light and contemporary interior – a great space in which to relax and escape everyday life. The private, gated deck also has he added bonus of a private hot tub, to allow complete relaxation at the end of a busy day. White Cross Bay is in a fabulous location, on the shores of Lake Windermere, with views across the water and to the surrounding fells, you are literally in the heart of the Lake District. Thirlmere Lodge is a short walk from the waterside where you can head down to the jetties, breathe in the fresh air, enjoy the views and watch the boats on the marina. On the Park itself, there is a bar and restaurant with outdoor seating area for dogs, picnic area and children’ play zone. You’re also just two miles from bustling Windermere village with shops, cafes and pubs, and three miles from Bowness boat landings, where the elegant cruisers come in and you can hop on a boat trip. Bowness is a cosmopolitan village with award-winning restaurants and pubs and quirky shops, a cinema and the ever- popular World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Three miles in the other direction, head to Ambleside, another bustling town with shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and of course, fabulous walks in every direction. Two miles north on the A592 is the pretty village of Troutbeck, home to two traditional pubs with log fires, great food and ales: The Queens Head and the Mortal Man.
