Fantastic dog friendly lodge

We were a party of 5 adults and a dog. The lodge was spacious and well equipped in a lovely peaceful spot. The little enclosed garden was really good when you have dog, with a bigger field beyond the garden when she needed a bigger run around. We really liked the outside heated decking and hot tub area which was partly covered so we spent lots of time outside. It was a very short walk to Rudyard lake where some of us had a paddle board taster session, we also did the circular walk around the lake which took just over 2 hours. Alton Towers was just a 30 minute drive away. The owners Matt and Mark were very welcoming and friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Fabulous family/dog friendly lodge

Great location next to Rudyard Lake.Lots to do near the lake and further afield. The lodge was refurbished to a very high standard.Well equipped kitchen, luxurious bathrooms. We loved the hot tub and heated veranda, which meant you could be outside even if it was a little cooler. The private garden was secure for our dog.Matt was friendly and chatty. The only issue was the quality of the wi-fi.We would definitely stay again .

Lovely location quiet and peaceful

A beautifully kept lodge with a private garden and shared meadow. Fully equipped kitchen. 2 shower rooms - one ensuite. Comfortable lounge seating area. Lovely soft fluffy towels. Can recommend this quiet location very close to Rudyard Lake. Fun ride on the little steam train on a Sunday. Excellent meals at the nearby Hotel Rutland.

Absolutely incredible Lodge

I booked this Lodge before Covid hit, mostly based on it's location, being dog friendly, also having a hot tub and two bathrooms! We were not disappointed at any point during our stay. The Lodge is just beautiful - no expense has been spared - gorgeous furniture, amazing hot tub, lovely veranda for morning coffee and an enclosed garden for the dog, leading out onto an even larger green for running around. You can walk down the green and across a style, straight out onto Rudyard Lake - many a fun hour doing Stand Up Paddleboarding and dog swimming! Would HIGHLY recommend this Lodge to everyone - we will definitely be back.

Excellent!

From booking to meeting Matt at the lodge nothing was too much trouble brilliant place and we will be back

Wow!

Just had a three night stay with old friends and this place is amazing! The owners have thought of absolutely everything to make the lodge a perfect home from home. There was a bluetooth speaker for music, tv, books, plastic wine glasses for outdoor use (much needed) a dishwasher and washing machine too!! The beds were all super comfortable; extremely clean throughput and having two bathrooms was brilliant. The hot tub was a beautiful bonus. The views are stunning and walks around the lake are gorgeous. We will be going again next February!

Beautiful weekend at the logcabin

Beautiful logcabin, Matt is a brilliant host and couldn't have done anymore to make sure we had a lovely stay. The views are stunning and the watersedge location is perfect and walking distance to Rudyard lake, I would highmy recommend this family and pet friendly logcabin to anybody. Thank you Matt.
